Between a holy God and sinful humanity stretches a chasm no human effort can bridge🙏

The bad news: all have sinned, standing guilty before a righteous Judge, utterly unable to earn His favor or justify themselves by works (READ: Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:10-12, 23; James 2:10)

The good news is far greater: God freely justifies the ungodly by grace through the redemption accomplished by Christ. At the cross, Christ bore the penalty we deserved and rendered the perfect obedience we could never fulfill. Through faith, God declares sinners righteous on account of Christ's “alien righteousness”--His perfect righteousness, which forever remains His own--granting us full acceptance before God (Helm, 2009). (READ: 2Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:1;Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16).

This is the heart of the Gospel: salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, so that all glory belongs to God alone
