UMMAL - HISTORY OVERVIEW
BRIEF HISTORY
The UMMAL was established in 2014 in the midst of August. Following the demise of his brother who used to serve as the President - representing the minority group of Maranao- Muslim in Lapu- lapu Cebu. Abdullah was then appointed to become the replacement of his late brother. Prior to his appointment, he has been supporting with all his heart and commitment
to different small problems of the Muslim Families in the society. Seeing, urgent needs of Muslim Community. He has decided to put up an organization that will help and alleviate the the life of every Muslim family with his Mission,
“our mission is to promote and introduce Islam to non-mu slims, and enrich as well as enhance the life of each Muslims family in cultural,legal,environmental,education and financial aspect of their life”. Believing that the local government May not provide such services, perhaps of high cost and limited interest by the public. There could be a wide resistance by the Local Government as as they could be skeptical in helping such small - scale community. Abdullah thought and saw the needs to put up an organization that will legalize and formalize in helping his co- Muslim families. With further consultation and deep thorough brainstorming with some vital individual he is comfortable with. They come up with the name UMMAL- in order to denotes unity among member and the unity among the Muslim community in the vicinity of Lapu - Lapu and Cebu province as well. A non- profit organization provide programs and services to the community. Such actions May take the form of developing local enrichment activities that will uplift the life of each and every Maranao- Muslim . Abdullah's main goal is to build mosque in some areas of Lapu - lapu and even in Cebu city occupied by Muslims who has the very limited access in going to the mosque. In addition, his plan of putting more Madrasah in Lapu lapu City, in order to enhance the knowledge of Muslim kids and youth about Islam is what makes his flame of desire continuously burning. His eagerness to help the Muslim society in Lapu - Lapu City is well supported and embrace by the families of Lapu- Lapu City. Since then the organization has been helping and resolving families conflict and problems. It has represent Lapu- Lapu Community in different activities sponsored By the Muslim Affairs such as Reading Qur'an activities and the like. The organization being a neophyte with it's place and position , is still spreading it's wings in line and in accordance with it's mission and vision statement. With the guidance of Almighty Allah.
