Life has a way of leaving us standing in the wake of things we never imaginedβloss that feels too heavy to bear, failures that echo in our minds, or moments that leave us wondering if light will ever pierce the darkness. In those moments, itβs easy to feel sad and forget that our story isnβt over yet. But even when we look back at what did happen, thereβs a big reason to hope: the Lord is great, and He promises to make everything new.

This is a firm, trustworthy promise from a God who holds all things in His hands. When we look back at the brokenness of the past, it can feel as if those moments define us. But this verse reminds us that God does not merely patch up what is broken, He transforms it entirely. His greatness is not just seen in His creation or the power of miracles, it is seen in His ability to bring beauty from ashes, to turn sorrow into joy, and to give purpose to pain.
We become living testimonies that what did happen does not have the final say. Whether we are encouraging ourselves in quiet moments of prayer or standing beside someone else in their grief, we are pointing to the truth that the Lord is still great, still in control, and still working to make everything new. This hope does not erase the past, nor does it ignore the weight of our current circumstances. Instead, it gives us the strength to move forward with courage. It tells us that every tear we have shed is seen, every burden we have carried is known, and every ending is a doorway to a new beginning.
In the end, whatever has happened in our lives, we can rest in the truth of Revelation 21:5. The Lord is still great, and He is making all things new. May this promise be a source of encouragement to you today, reminding you that your story is still being written, and its best chapters are yet to come.
