As the illness worsened in Barcelona , ​​Sister Catalina predicted her own death, which occurred on January 3, 1594 , well into the night. Her funeral was held the next day.

Six months later, in June, the body was removed from the grave and found to be incorrupt . On March 19, 1597, she was examined by city doctors who described her incorruption as miraculous . The body received public veneration, being visited, among others, by Felipe III and his wife De he Margarita de Austria in the year 1600 .

By order of Father General Fray Francisco de la Madre de Dios, the body was transferred to the Pamplona convent in 1604 . In compensation for the loss, an arm and a hand were given to the Barcelona convent. The body remains incorrupt today.

Venerable Mother Maria Isabel of the Most Holy Trinity

MARIA ISABEL PICÃO CALDEIRA was born on February 1, 1889, in Monte do Torrão, parish of Santa Eulália, municipality of Elvas - Portugal, having received Baptism on March 3 of the same year. Her parents, João Miguel Caldeira and Maria Francisca da Silva Picão, were wealthy farmers and gave her a meticulous education, allowing her to attend the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon.

On March 20, 1912, she married João Pires Carneiro, also a farmer. After a few years of marital happiness, her husband contracted a serious illness and died on June 17, 1922. Maria Isabel suffered the greatest heartbreak of her life.

Widowed and childless, for eleven years she dedicated herself to the apostolate in her homeland, Santa Eulália. Although she was happy in her dedication to others, she began to feel God's call for religious consecration. On September 8, 1934, she entered the Contemplative Dominican Sisters in Azurara, where she remained for only seven months due to lack of health.

D. Manuel da Conceição Santos, Archbishop of Évora, knowing of her return from the cloister, invited her to take care of the Casa de Retiros, in Elvas, a responsibility that she assumed on March 20, 1936. There she began a vast apostolic action of service to the poor, creating various social works, spending, for this, their own goods.

Under the protection of Maria Imaculada and inspired by Santa Beatriz da Silva, he founded, in 1939, the Congregation of Conceptionist Sisters at the Service of the Poor, which was approved by Pope Pius XII on July 5, 1955. That same year, on December the Congregation was canonically erected and Mother Maria Isabel da Santíssima Trindade makes her Perpetual Profession.

Sensing that he was approaching the end of his earthly life, on November 17, 1960, he wrote his Spiritual Testament, which he left to his "daughters" as a "sacred gift".

He died on July 3, 1962, in Elvas, after a lifetime dedicated to others. From rich he became poor to privilege the poor. These were her great passion and the raison d'être of her Work. With a big heart, which seemed to want to embrace everything and everyone, she risked her possessions and her life. She suffered illness, setbacks, loneliness, slander and misunderstanding. In the midst of so many trials, he remained faithful to what he believed to be the will of God.

She was buried in her homeland, in a family vault. Her remains were transferred to the Mother House of the Congregation, in Elvas, on December 20, 1980.

The Cause of His Canonization was introduced in 1998.

The Institute of Benedictine Sisters of Divine Providence had its origin in Voghera, Province of Pavia / Italy, Diocese of Tortona, in the year 1849, of the sisters MARIA AND GIUSTINA SCHIAPPAROLI, today, recognized by the Church as Venerable and Servants of God.

Daughters of Clemente Schiapparoli and Marianna Passera, Maria and Giustina were born in Castel San Giovanni (Piacenza – Italy), on April 19, 1815 and July 19, 1819, respectively. In this same city, they received Baptism and Confirmation. Still young, due to the condition of the family, they were welcomed in the Establishment of the Daughters Derelitas, directed by Benedetta Cambiagio Frassinello, where they became teachers.

Upon returning to Voghera to take care of the father who had become a widower and sick and of sister Luigia, who was blind, Maria and Giustina, in the father’s house, with few and modest offices, open a school for girls, which they not only teach sewing and embroidery, but they also give them notions of reading and writing and, above all, teach the Catechism. Then, they also begin to welcome abandoned and poor children, who are removed from marginalization and child prostitution.

The work of the Schiapparoli Sisters quickly solidified in Voghera. And so, abandoning themselves entirely in the hands of Divine Providence, they found the Congregation of the Benedictine Sisters of Divine Providence.

Throughout their lives, the Venerable Servants of God demonstrated that they had a deep, intimate and personal union with God, through prayer and asceticism, in the search for divine will, in the complete distance from earthly goods, in humility and in silence, according to the image of Jesus Christ.

They lived the virtue of faith very simply: Holy Mass and daily Communion, traditional prayers, recitation of the Holy Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration. They were not experts in spiritual doctrines, nor did they resort to very high readings and meditations. They had a daily piety, intertwined with fervor and fidelity.

The love for God of the Servants of God, Maria and Giustina Schiapparoli, was truly exclusive and ardent, deeply united with the love that motivated her choice of life. Great was the desire to consecrate oneself to God and the poor and abandoned children, and together they walked this path of life-giving charity of God’s love.

The main occupation of the Schiapparoli was to help the little ones with the needs of their bodies and affection, which they gave them as true mothers, making them grow in virtues, in education and in the Christian life.

It was the very example of the virtues of Mary and Giustina that attracted numerous vocations, some also from wealthy families, despite the climate of authentic poverty and sacrifice in which the Institute lived in those early days.

The Servant of God, Giustina Schiapparoli, in particular, showed
confidence in the intervention of Divine Providence in the help of the Sisters and children, invoked by her with absolute confidence.

Such trust remains a characteristic feature of the Congregation, founded by them, precisely under the title of Divine Providence. Maria and Giustina have always lived in this dimension of absolute abandonment to the provident goodness of God: they never had a home of their own, they always relied on the subsidies of religious and public authorities and appealed to the generosity of good people and, while fighting to win difficulties, they were not indifferent, they never refused any child who came to their door or who came to them through public charity.

These are, therefore, the figures of the Founders and, as such, must be considered by the Benedictine Sisters of Divine Providence, because it was because of them alone, because of their charity, their love of poverty and their sacrifice that the Institute was born and grow and still live a current Charism, in the Church and in Society.

Poverty, humility, service, silence, prayer and trust in Divine Providence are the spiritual inheritance that the Founders left to their branches; that inheritance, that Charism that these Daughters must live in today’s world, in the service that is asked of them today, bearing in mind that, like Giustina and Maria Schiapparoli, poor youth, alone, marginalized and in difficulties must be the favorite, the favorite of the Benedictine Sisters of Divine Providence.

The Foundress of the Carmelites of San José is Salvadoran, from San Miguel, where she was born in 1857. In the name given to her on the day of her Baptism, October 31 of 1857, Clara del Carmen, any medium-sized "seer" would have read her future. She will be the Foundress, like Clare of Assisi, on whose day she opens her eyes to this world, and of a Carmelite Institute, the Carmelites of Saint Joseph.

She – Clara – wrapped in effective and affective poverty, was particularly kidnapped by her own father, Daniel Quirós, when she was three years old. It is known that her mother – Carmen López – marries her with a man who used to frequent the house – Félix Alvarado – who signs himself “Professor of Sciences and Letters”, but who turns out to be incompetent for life. Clarita, only fifteen years old, is unaware of masculine psychology. That wedding was a failure of the mother and an irresponsibility of Felix. She spends her life in Nueva San Salvador. Her six children arrived. The last two soon flew into the sky.

The other first three are still remembered in the history of El Salvador: Carmen, married to Recaredo Gallardo, Minister of Finance for President Romero Bosque, Gertrudis married to Godofredo Arrieta Rossi, Governor and great Physician and Surgeon; and Alfred.

Only Cipriano, who inherits the "bad head" of his grandfather Daniel and his father Félix, caused his mother very bitter days.

The great thing about this woman is that – abandoned by her husband – she leans towards her God, who is Love, towards her Son Jesus Christ present on earth in the Eucharist, the Sacrament of Love, and towards the Mother of Jesus under the tender invocation of Dolores, who would dry her tears, and of Carmen, the Mother who receives her on the day of her Baptism.

It is her great success to rediscover LOVE with capital letters, in God and in her Mother, as a reward for others who are very tender and human for a woman, born to be loved.

In 1873 he enlisted in the Brotherhood of Carmen; in 1887 he takes the habit of the Third Order; in 1889 she professes as a Sister and is the only one who makes the Carmelite profession among the hundreds of Sisters and Brothers that are cited in the Association's catalog, which reveals the height of her ideals and the seriousness of her incorporation into the Third Order radically assumed. Her Carmelite future is projected on the horizon.

There is no lack in his soul of an endearing love for the Sorrowful Mother, before whose broken heart he needs to collect himself. In different years she appears as the Treasurer of the Brotherhood founded in 1884 in Nueva San Salvador.

Her Christ in the Blessed Sacrament irresistibly attracted her ever since she experienced the instability of human love and for years, starting in 1889, she served as Secretary of the Guard of Honor of the Blessed Sacrament. Consequently, her respect for the Bishops and Priests is noted in the Parishes of La Concepción and Carmen de Nueva San Salvador, in the Seminary, with the Salesians and Jesuits.

Clare appears in the forefront in all apostolic, parish and diocesan work. She is the promoter and the soul, the promoter of the Spiritual Exercises, Active Member of the Catholic Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and the Brotherhood of Carmen. She is always on the side of the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy in the worst social conflicts and of the Catholic School. She is a great female social apostle.

To solve her economic shortcomings, she opens a “Real Estate” agency and details the most original of her life, for which she will be – we do not doubt it – declared in her day the Patroness before God of those who dedicate themselves to such a service in Society. To her numerous daughters she has left the challenge of her spirituality and her mission in the Church. We know that the Salvadoran ecclesiastical authority wants to officially study the great Christian personality of Mother Clarita by opening the Process of her Canonization.

The Diocesan Process of the life, heroic virtues and fame of holiness of the Servant of God Mother Clara María de Jesús Quirós took place in El Salvador from November 4, 2004 to December 13, 2005. All the documentation of the Process was sent to Rome through the Apostolic Nunciature in El Salvador on January 16, 2006. And the Sacred Congregation for the Causes of Saints issued the Decree of Validity of the Diocesan Process on October 31, 2008.
