Today, Pope Leo XIV released his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas (“Protecting Human Dignity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”). Presented at the Vatican alongside theologians and tech leaders, the document highlights the Church’s response to the challenges of AI and the digital age.
Pope Leo XIV reminds the world that the deepest issue is not technology itself, but our understanding of the human person. Human beings are never just data, profiles, or algorithms—they are persons created with dignity and purpose by God.
The encyclical also addresses misinformation, artificial relationships, the future of work, and the ethical dangers of autonomous warfare.
