All across the archipelago, we are all celebrating this historical milestone of our Simbahang Malaya. We give tribute to our forbearers and unsung heroes who fought for our freedom and independence 124 years ago.
This anniversary is more than a remembrance of our historyโit is a celebration of God's enduring grace that has sustained the Church through every generation. Inspired by the theme, "Sustained by Grace, Nurtured in Faith, Sent Forth in Mission" (Ephesians 2:8โ10), we are reminded that our identity and purpose are rooted in God's grace, strengthened through faith, and expressed in faithful service to His people.
For 124 years, the Iglesia Filipina Independiente has remained committed to proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing disciples, and standing with those who seek justice, peace, and human dignity. Our forebears envisioned a Church that would faithfully serve Christ while walking alongside the Filipino people in their hopes, struggles, and aspirations. That mission continues today.
As members of the Church, we are called to deepen our relationship with Christ through prayer, worship, and the study of His Word. We are also challenged to strengthen our unity as one Church and to become living witnesses of God's love through acts of compassion, reconciliation, and service, especially to the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable.
Sa paggunita natin sa makasaysayang pagkakataong ito, nawa'y muli nating pagtibayin ang ating pangako sa misyon ni Kristo nang may pusong puno ng pasasalamat. Magtiwala tayo na ang Diyos na matapat na nag-ingat at nagsustento sa Iglesia Filipina Independiente sa loob ng isang daan at dalawamput apat na taon ay patuloy na gagabay, magpapalakas, at magbibigay-inspirasyon sa atin upang tapat nating maipagpatuloy ang Kanyang misyon para sa kasalukuyan at sa mga susunod pang salinlahi.
May we remain faithful in our calling, steadfast in hope, courageous in witness, and unwavering in love as we continue God's mission in the world.
