Young LGBTIQ+ leaders and allies of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente will gather via Zoom on May 17 for Bahaghari Conversations 2021: Human & Blessed. Join them as they tackle the situation of LGBTIQ+ individuals and their God-given dignity in time for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT)!
Speaking at the event are:

• Justin Francis Bionat. He is currently the executive director of Youth Voices Count, a network for adolescent and youth LGBTIQ+ individuals based in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also a board member of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) committee and a youth council member of the Global Fund.

• Rev. Joseph San Jose. He is an ordained and licensed clergy of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (UFMCC), the first Christian denomination founded in the affirming ministry for LGBTIQ+ people by LGBTIQ+ people of faith. He is now the local church pastor of Open Table MCC. In 2019, he was part of the Community Solutions Program in the United States and received a leadership certification from IREX and George Mason University.

This year’s Bahaghari Conversations is a partnership among the Ramento Project for Rights Defenders, the Youth of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente and the National Council of Churches in the Philippines. For years now, the event has gathered, celebrated and motivated LGBTIQ+ individuals and advocates in the IFI.

Sama-sama po tayo para sa isang masinsinang usapan!

We Ilokano's never forget every years "Panata" during Lenten Season. The Youth of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente together with Cofradia de Camareros del Aglipayanos conducts a Lenten Exhibit dubbed as "Sumurot kayo iti dalan Ko" portraying sacred images of Saints and other Characters during the Passion of Christ.

With this initiative, it is also an alternative way on how are we going to continue our beliefs during this time of pandemic.

The Cathedral of St. William the Hermit Laoag would like to invite everyone to come and visit our Lenten Exhibit from 8:00am to 7:00pm that will last until March 26, 2021.

Upon visiting, let us always remember our health protocols: wearing of face mask-faceshield, social distancing and other medium requirement to prevent the spread of the Virus.

Together We Believe as One and We Heal as One!

In consideration to the presence of Corona Virus in the country, the National Government and the Department of Education have made changes and adjustments to the education system of the country. With them, together with other education related agencies they have proposed and crafted different learning modalities to still provide quality education to the Filipino students.

In relation, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte through the Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office’s Volunteer Desk supports these and will deploy volunteers to the different elementary and secondary schools in the province as delivery aides this coming School Year 2020-2021. The Module Delivery Service program encourages everyone to assist in the safe delivery and retrieval of learning modules of the students limiting the physical movements of people inside their residences.

The program is open to all provincial scholars to facilitate their responsibility to render volunteer service in their respective barangay.

Please see the full implementing rules and regulations of the said program on this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Vptr2wW8mdImQYVdhE3GhWg2yZCzWydT?usp=sharing

We highly encourage our youth organizations and different government agencies to adapt same mechanism to bring quality education to our pupils and students.

For interested scholars and non-scholars, and for inquires you may message or call Mr. Jeremy Mark Borromeo at 097-7100-916 or 670-70-48.

Together, let us advance our education!
