WHAT IS TITHES AND OFFERINGS?
In the Word of God, tithes and offerings are not just financial matters. They are spiritual disciplines that shape our loyalty, worship, and love for Jesus. When we give, we are declaring: He is first in everything.
1. Tithes: What Belongs to the Lord
A tithe is the first ten percent of all our income (Leviticus 27:30). It is holy unto God. Jesus confirmed its importance: “These ought ye to have done” (Matthew 23:23).
Tithing teaches us to honor God with our first and not our leftovers (Proverbs 3:9). It is faith in action. It says: “Lord, You are my Provider. Everything comes from You.”
Sa paghatag sa ikapulo, dili lang kita nagatuman. Nagatuo kita nga ang Ginoo mismo ang musang-at sa atong panginahanglan (Malachi 3:10).
Tithing is not generosity. It is obedience.
2. Offerings: What We Give From the Heart
Offerings flow out of love and gratitude. They are not mandated by percentage but measured by the condition of the heart.
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give”
(2 Corinthians 9:7)
Offerings speak louder than words. They say:
“Jesus, You deserve more than the minimum.”
Minsan hindi na ito utos kundi tugon ng puso para sa Diyos na mabuti at tapat.
Offerings reveal our passion for the Kingdom.
3. The Tithe Tests Our Faithfulness, The Offering Reveals Our Love
The tithe trains discipline and stewardship (Luke 16:10).
The offering expresses worship and sacrifice (Psalm 96:8).
Tithing returns what is God’s.
Offering gives because He is worthy.
Kung mahal natin ang Diyos, makikita din ito sa ating pagbibigay.
Hindi dahil pinipilit, kundi dahil totoo ang ating pagsamba.
Giving is Worship.
When we bring our tithes and offerings, we are not losing anything.
We are investing in eternity (Matthew 6:19–20).
We are placing our treasure where our heart truly belongs.
Apostolic givers know:
We do not give to be blessed.
We give because we are already blessed.
