Why Do So Many People Resist Grace?

It's because they view Grace as a doctrine that goes against what they believe about God. Grace is not a doctrine or theology or teaching.

Grace is Jesus Christ - who is our life, our righteousness, our perfection.

John 1:17 - "Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ"

Grace is the Gospel of Jesus - the Good News that God forgives our sins, makes us righteous, sanctifies us, perfects us - all by faith in Jesus and not by works.

Grace (Jesus) can only be received by faith and not by works.

Ephesians 2:8 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast."

Faith and works cannot be mixed.

Grace and works don't mix.
Christ alone.

Worldly thinking is to earn God's grace by works.

Grace is FREELY received by faith.

1 Corinthians 2:12 - What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us ... we have the mind of Christ."

Grace means to have the mind of Christ to know that God has given everything freely to us - not by works but only by faith.
