The first worship night of the YWAVO Convention 2026 began with an engaging socialization activity facilitated by Ate Mary Ann Cabbigat, which eventually led to the guessing of team names based on biblical characters, revealing what it truly means to be redefined โ from their old selves to a life aligned with God. Ate Mary Ann highlighted early biblical figures, including the Bible-based characters represented by each team, showing how each one reflects a life transformed by Godโs calling and anchored in Him.
From Abel, who showed that legacy can be changed by God, to Joshua and Esther, who found their purpose in Him. Leaders like David and Josiah demonstrated what it means to have leadership shaped by God, while Jeremiah showed that God can use anyone, no matter how afraid they may be.
Some exemplified boldness in faith such as Daniel, who chose not to compromise; Stephen, whose courage was redefined; and Timothy, who proved that no one is too young to serve God. Others, like Philip and Titus, reflected obedience and responsibility, while John showed what it means to have a heart of love.
In addition, the facilitator traced the representatives of the generations who have been part of the youth ministry up to the present generation attending the current YWAVO Convention, emphasizing the continuity of Godโs faithfulness across generations.
At the center of it all was Jesus Christโthe One who ultimately redefines every life. The activity ended with a personal declaration from the youth: โThe Lord redefined me tonight.โ
This led to the introduction of YWAVO โ Youth With A Vision Organization. It was emphasized that YWAVO is more than just a name or an organization that young people attend; it is an identity they embody
Ptr. Jomar Tayaban then delved into the history of the organization, beginning in 1989 with a youth rally of around 80 young people. From renting a small space to eventually having its own grounds, the ministry has grown through faith and obedience. From its early identity as TGYO (Tribal Gospel Youth Organization) to becoming YWAVO in 2005, the vision has been carried across generations of leaders, including Ptr. Bienvenido Arquero, who initiated the first youth activity.
The message also emphasized how each generation, from the Lost Generation to Gen Alpha and beyond, is shaped by its culture and time. As part of the fifth generation of YWAVO, the youth were reminded that they are part of something greater than themselves, and that by adhering to Godโs calling, they have a vital role in continuing the mission.
At the heart of the night was the word: Redefine. Anchored in Romans 12:2, the attendees were challenged not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. In a world that constantly tries to label and define people, the congregation was reminded to allow God to reshape their identity, purpose, and direction.
