Feast of the Immaculate Conception — December 8

Today we remember a beautiful truth: from the very beginning, God prepared Mary for her special mission by keeping her free from sin. This wasn’t about greatness or status — it was about God’s love and His plan to bring Jesus into the world. Mary was an ordinary young woman, but her heart was open, humble, and trusting.

When God invited her to become the Mother of Jesus, she didn’t fully understand everything, yet she still said “Yes.” Her “yes” changed the world. It reminds us that even the simplest acts of faith can become part of God’s great story and “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to Your word.” — Luke 1:38

We joyfully invite everyone to celebrate this holy day of obligation with us at St. Anthony Parish, Christ the King Cathedral. May Mary’s “yes” inspire us to say our own “yes” to God in the little and big moments of life.
