Feb. 27 ‘22 - Sunday
Gospel : Lk 6:39-45
(Shortened)
Jesus said, “Can a blind person guide a blind person? No disciple is superior to the teacher. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?How can you say, ‘Brother, let me remove that splinter in your eye,’ when you do not even notice the wooden beam in your own eye? YOU HYPOCRITE ! Remove the wooden beam from your eye first ! For every tree is known by its own fruit. For from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”
REFLECTION:
It is the fact that part of our human & fallen nature is our lack of perfection. Thus we all have, in one way or another, some degree of inconsistencies. And here in the gospel, Jesus has pointed out some of our Hypocrisies❗️ As our savior, Jesus is teaching us to clear & clean our hearts, so our words & actions be
consistent and pure, especially this time that we are about to start this year’s Lenten season (kwaresma).
What about you?

Gospel : Mk 10:1-12
(Shortened)The Pharisees asked Jesus, “Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?”They were testing him. They said “Moses permitted a husband to write a bill of divorce and dismiss her.”But Jesus told them,“Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment. But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate.”
REFLECTION:
Today Jesus has reminded us about the Indissoluble Character of Marriage❗️ Someone explained that It
is the joyous affirmation that NUPTIAL LOVE IS NOT AT THE MERCY of spouses’ moods, nor of the unforeseeable good or bad circumstances spouses may face, nor of the changing ideas or perceptions they may have towards intimacy & love. And above all it’s because
‘ what God has joined as one, nobody must separate’.
What do you think?

May God Bless You

Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, Apostle
Gospel : Mt 16:13-19
(Shortened)
Jesus asked his disciples,“Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, YOU ARE PETER, and UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of death shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of heaven. WHATEVER YOU BIND on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
REFLECTION:
This refers to the primacy of Peter which is the position of preeminence that is attributed to Peter among the Twelve Apostles as designated by Christ❗️ Despite of Peter’s denial and weaknesses, he was chosen by our Lord for such position… true indeed, God does not Call a Qualified but He Qualifies the Called.
🙏 🙏 🙏
St. Peter, pray for us.

Feb. 20 ‘22 - Sunday
Gospel : Lk 6:27-38
(Shortened)
Jesus said to his disciples:“love your enemies,do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. To the person who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other one as well. Give to everyone who asks of you. Do to others as you would have them do to you. And your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.“Stop judging and you will not be judged. Forgive & you will be forgiven. Give, and gifts will be given to you; will be poured over flowingly into your lap.
REFLECTION:
This sounds so challenging but not impossible. MLK said “Love has within it a redemptive power. And there is a power there that eventually transforms individuals”. Moreover, Pope Francis, in the spirit of synodality, invites not only the Faithful but also other churches, even unbelievers
(including those unlovable
and undesirables).
What a mission… to spread
God’s unconditional Love❗️
What about you?

Our Lady of Lourdes
World Day of the sick
Gospel : Mk 7:31-37
(Shortened)
People brought to Jesus a deaf & mute person, and begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him off by himself away from the crowd. He put his finger into the man’s ears and, spitting, touched his tongue; then he looked up to heaven and groaned, and said to him,“Ephphatha!” (that is, “Be opened!”) And immediately the man’s ears were opened, his speech impediment was removed. They were astonished and said, “He did very well. He made the deaf hear and the mute speak.”
REFLECTION :
This gospel amplifies our Role & Responsibility to our brothers/ sisters who are sick & in need. Here the deaf & mute person did not come by himself to face Jesus for a simple reason; he has no capability to do so. But the crowd of people helped and led him to see Jesus, and Jesus healed him. May we realize & find inspirations to actively help and lead those sick people to Jesus, in person or in prayer, specially today as we celebrate World Day of the Sick. What about you?
🙏 🙏 🙏

Feb. 8 ‘22 - Tuesday
Gospel : Mk 7:1-13
(Shortened )
Some Pharisees & scribes observed that Jesus’ disciples ate their mealswith unwashed hands. So they questioned him, Why do your disciples not follow the tradition but instead eat a meal w/ unclean hands? He replied, How well you have set aside God’s lawin order to uphold your tradition! For Moses said,Honor your father and your mother, and Whoever curses father or mother shall die. Yet you say, If someone says to father or mother, “Any support you might have had from me is qorban”’ (meaning, for God), you allow him to do nothing for his father or mother. You nullify the word of God in favor of your tradition. And you do many such things.
REFLECTION:
Jesus shows here that LEGALISM is the dark side of Religion. So He warned us not to fall into it, for legalism always breeds compliance over purpose. Compliance is not good enough nor can save us. Because, God, on the other hand, looks on the HEART. Remember, legalism does not make you Holy, it just makes you Appear Holy.

Feb. 7 ‘22 - Monday
Gospel : Mk 6:53-56
After making the crossing to the other side of the sea,Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaretand tied up there. As they were leaving the boat, people immediately recognized him. They scurried about the surrounding country and began to bring in the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. Whatever villages or towns he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.
REFLECTION:
Driven by desire for healing people were bringing the sick and begging that they might touch the fringe of His cloak ! Do we share the same enthusiasm & Faith of the crowds in bringing our family, relatives, and friends In Need to Jesus in prayer ?
Reality check, may you ask yourself; Am I helping others to reach Him, or am I waiting for someone to bring me to Jesus? By the way, Would you allow Jesus to touch & heal you? May we all be inspired and be spiritually enriched from here. What do you think?
🙏 🙏 🙏
Have A Fruitful Week

Feb. 06 ‘22 - Sunday
Gospel : Lk 5:1-11
(Shortened)
Jesus sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. Afterwards he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water & lower your nets for a catch.” Simon replied, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything & followed him.
REFLECTION:
The calling & conversion of Peter into Apostleship and becoming Fisher of men, despite of his admission being a Sinful Man, have taught us that GOD Doesn’t
Call the QUALIFIED,
He QUALIFIES the CALLED.
May we find inspirations from here with Joyful hearts
as we participate
on Christ’s Mission.

Feb 4 ‘22 - Friday
Gospel : Mk 6:14-29
(Shortened)
King Herod heard about Jesus, saying, “John the Baptist has been raised from the dead; that is why mighty powers are at work in him. It was Herod who arrested John for he said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” Herodias wanted to kill him until she had a chance at Herod’s birthday. Her daughter performed a dance that delighted Herod and his guests. Herod said to the girl, “Ask of me whatever you wish and I will grant it to you, even to half of my kingdom.” So, She asked her mother. And Her mother replied, “The head of John.” The girl came back to the king and said, “I want you to give me at once the head of John.” The king was deeply distressed, but because of the guests he did not wish to break his word. So he dispatched an executioner who went off and beheaded John in the prison.
REFLECTION:
May we learn from the
mistake of king Herod;
Don’t Make A Promise
You Cannot Keep And Don’t Say Something Unless You
Mean It With Prudence.

PRUDENCE: An Essential
Virtue During An Election

Feb. 01 ‘22 - Tuesday
Gospel : Mk 5:21-43
(Shortened)
Jairus, a synagogue official, came & pleaded to Jesus “My daughter is at the point of death. Please, come that she may be healed. So he went with them. But people from the synagogue official’s house arrived and said, “Your daughter has died; why still bother the teacher?” Jesus said “Don’t be afraid; just have faith.”
As they arrived Jesus said “Why are you crying? The child isn’t dead but asleep.” And THEY RIDICULED HIM. Putting them all out, Jesus took along the child’s father, mother & those w/ him. He took the child by the hand and said “Talitha koum,” w/c means, “Little girl, arise!” The girl arose immediately & walked around. They were all utterly astounded.
😇REFLECTION😇
Unfortunately it is the fact that The World Rejects Jesus, from His birth to His death and beyond. Here He was REDICULED❗️Yet, this did not stop Him nor being carried away. Indeed, “To seek your own glory is the mark of falsehood.” And “The mark of truthfulness is God-exaltation, not self-exaltation.” May we all be inspired by our Lord with the true spirit of Fortitude.
🙏 🙏 🙏
