Today, we honor Saint Raymond Nonnatus, a Mercedarian priest and devoted servant of God, known for his deep compassion for captives and his courageous witness to the Gospel.

His life reminds us that true freedom is found in Christ, and that love calls us to stand with those who suffer, to defend the dignity of every person, and to remain faithful even in times of trial.

May the example of St. Raymond inspire us to become instruments of hope, mercy, and freedom especially for those who feel imprisoned by fear, suffering, or despair.

She reminds us that no act of kindness is ever too small when it is done with love. In serving the forgotten and embracing those in need, Saint Jeanne Jugan saw Christ Himself.

Today, the Church commemorates the Passion of Saint John the Baptist, the Precursor of our Lord Jesus Christ, who fearlessly proclaimed the truth and remained faithful to God until the end.

His martyrdom reminds us that true discipleship calls us to courageously defend the truth, remain steadfast in faith, and faithfully prepare the way for Christ in our lives.

May we, like Saint John, have the courage to decrease so that Christ may increase in us.
