“Take care lest you forget the LORD your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied . . .”
— DEUTERONOMY 8:11–13 ( ESV )
It is so easy to feel like we are the architects of our own success when things are going well. We look at our bank accounts, our homes, and our achievements, and we start to believe that our own hands built the foundation we stand on.
If you find yourself in a season of plenty, don’t let your stuff crowd out your Savior. And if you are in a season of waiting, remember that the God who promises to multiply your "herds and flocks" is already standing right beside you.
He doesn't just give the blessing; He is the blessing. Hold onto Him today, knowing that even if everything else was stripped away, His grace is the only thing you truly cannot live without.
When Jesus commanded us to preach the gospel to all nations, you may ask, "Does Jesus mean me?" Let's find an answer to that as we learn from His word.
