LA TRINIDAD UMC CONCLUDES CHARGE CONFERENCE

Palmaville, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet — Danyang La Trinidad United Methodist Church successfully concluded its Charge Conference on January 31 at 3: 00 PM, marking an important milestone in the life and mission of the congregation.

The Charge Conference was presided over by Rev. Roel R. Meneses, Superintendent of the Cordillera Misssion District (CMD), who was accompanied by his wife, Abey Meneses. Church leaders and key officers were present to affirm reports, plans, and commitments for the coming year.

In attendance were the Pastor, Lay Leader George Tamayo, Secretary and Pastor-Parish Relations Committee (PPRC) Chair Mari Milissa Tamayo, and Myrna Mariano, Coordinator for Outreach Ministries.

The conference highlighted the church’s vision for holistic ministry and community empowerment. In the spirit of Methodist stewardship and social holiness, the congregation expressed unity and hope as it looks forward to the establishment of the La Trinidad UMC Multipurpose Cooperative, envisioned as a concrete response to faith lived out in community.

Grounded in Scripture, the church draws inspiration from Acts 2:44–45, which says, “All the believers were together and had everything in common… they gave to anyone who had need.” Guided by John Wesley’s emphasis that faith must be expressed through works of mercy, Danyang La Trinidad UMC remains committed to nurturing discipleship that transforms lives one at a time and communities one day at a time.

A Prayer of Gratitude and Hope

Gracious and faithful God,
We come before You with grateful hearts as we look back on the year that has been.
For 2025—its joys and struggles, its answered prayers and waiting seasons—we give You thanks.

Thank You for Your sustaining grace when the days were heavy,
for Your quiet presence when we felt uncertain,
and for Your abundant blessings that reminded us You are always near.
You have been our refuge and strength, our wisdom in decisions made,
and our comfort in losses endured.
Truly, Lord, You have carried us through this year by Your mercy.

We thank You for every lesson that shaped us,
every relationship that strengthened us,
and every opportunity to serve You and others.
Even in moments we did not understand,
we trust that You were at work, forming us according to Your good purposes.

And now, O God, as we stand at the threshold of a new year,
we lift to You our hopes for 2026.

Go before us, Lord.
Bless the coming days with renewed faith,
that we may trust You more deeply and walk more faithfully in Your ways.
Fill our hearts with hope that does not disappoint,
a hope rooted not in our plans, but in Your promises.

Grant us courage to face what lies ahead,
wisdom to discern Your will,
and humility to depend on Your grace each day.
Strengthen our faith when we feel weak,
and remind us that Your love is constant and Your mercies are new every morning.

May 2026 be a year where we grow closer to You,
serve more faithfully,
love more generously,
and live in a way that brings glory to Your name.

We entrust the year ahead into Your hands,
confident that the One who has been faithful before
will remain faithful still.

All these we pray with thanksgiving and hope,
in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Amen.

Barefooted Reflections is a weekly devotional podcast by Pastor Sheila — born from the experience of being in a quiet church in the mountains of Benguet where every worshipper removes their footwear before entering.
Here, we remember that being barefoot before God means coming to Him with honesty, humility, and openness. Each reflection invites you to pause, listen, and walk closer with the Lord — step by step, in faith and gratitude.
Whether you’re on the road, at home, or in a moment of stillness, Barefooted Reflections is your companion for the journey — a space to stand on holy ground and meet God where you are.

Theme: God Knows My Name

Today we learned that being known by God is both a comfort and a calling:
✦ Like clay in the potter’s hand (Jeremiah 18), we are shaped by God.
✦ With a God who knows us inside and out (Psalm 139), we walk with confidence.
✦ In Christ, relationships are transformed (Philemon).
✦ But discipleship comes with a cost—carrying our cross and putting Jesus first (Luke 14).

🙌 God knows your name. The question is: are you willing to follow Him wherever He leads?

🌟 **Danyang La Trinidad UMC 12th Anniversary Celebration** 🌟

Today, Danyang La Trinidad United Methodist Church joyfully celebrated its **12th Anniversary** with the theme: *“Rooted in Humility and Love, Serving by God’s Grace.”*

The service was graced by our guest speaker, **Rev. Roel “Wey” Meneses**, District Superintendent of the Cordillera Mission District, who powerfully expounded on the anniversary theme and reminded us to remain steadfast in love and service as God’s people.

The congregation was uplifted with the special song *“Find Us Faithful.”* A reading of the church’s history helped us look back with gratitude for God’s guidance through the years, while the consecration of lay organization officers marked a renewed commitment to serve faithfully in the ministry.

Following the worship service, everyone enjoyed a **sumptuous lunch fellowship**—a true celebration of community and God’s abundant blessings. As a way of sharing, **rice packs with mongo beans and dried fish** were distributed not only to members but also to neighbors and passersby, along with **Korean-English Bibles**, extending the reach of God’s Word.

Truly, the 12th anniversary was a day of thanksgiving, celebration, and service—living out our calling to be rooted in humility and love, and to continue serving by God’s grace.

📖 *“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”* – Colossians 2:6-7
