Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2:5-6

Christ was already equal with God, possessing all of the same Divine attributes possessed by God the Father. It would be no "robbery, " therefore, if He came into the world and demanded all men immediately serve Him and worship Him as God. But in fact He came more "quietly" into this world. He made Himself of no reputation and became as it were a servant (verse 7). He left us an example of humility that we ought to emulate.

Lord Jesus, you didn't come into the world to be served but to serve and to give your life a ransom for many. Help us to learn true humility from your example left to us in Scripture. You always submitted to the Father, even to the point of enduring the pain and agony of the cross. Help us to endure all things with joy that God has made our lot to bear, knowing that it will turn to our benefit in the end. Amen.

James 1:17
Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.

Explanation and Commentary of James 1:17

God is the giver of anything that is good. There is more good than most people realize. James has been discoursing on trials, and even these are good and perfect gifts. Everything that we have is a gift from God, undeserved. After salvation and adoption, every gift from God is a bonus.

Every situation, no matter how difficult, is a gift designed to bring us good in both this life and the next. Those who do not understand this will run the risk of seeing God as one who changes. They think that one day God is good and blessing them with pleasant gifts. The next he is either unaware of what satan is doing, or he is powerless, or just not good anymore. But this is a deception. The Father of the heavenly lights does not change. He has been good and perfect from eternity past. He is good and perfect today. He will be good and perfect tomorrow Ashwell along with everything that he does, and everything that he gives.

This is meant to be a great encouragement and will lead to a muscular faith that can handle the trials of life. God never changes. He is good all the time, and all the time he is good.

James also uses a play on words in this verse, referring to God as the Father of lights, or "of heavenly lights." He is the source of the light. The sun can never be in shadow. At times, shadows may fall on us, but He is ever and always light. If we turn away from Him, pls.. tecnotes this... we go only deeper into shadow. Turning from God in order to escape hardship is as ridiculous as hiding from the sun in an effort to escape darkness. When faced with ordeals, we should seek the one who can make all things new.

What does it mean to remain faithful in hard times? It means continuing to acknowledge that God is the source of what is good in our lives, and what will be good in the future.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22

Before we knew Jesus, we had all sorts of selfish ambitions and desires that came from an impure heart. And even knowing Jesus, it’s not always easy to walk away from those desires. In fact, sometimes we have to run! And as we flee from selfish desires, Jesus opens our eyes to see that we are running to him as he purifies our hearts and wraps us in his righteousness.

Prayer:
Lord, You have forgiven me and made me new. Yet the lusts and ambitions of my past creep into my thoughts. Please give me swift feet and a clear path so that I may flee from these thoughts. Embrace me with Your righteousness and fill me with Your purity, so that I may withstand the temptations that try to chase me down. In Jesus’ name, amen.

GOD BLESS YOU!🙏❤

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Roman 6:11

Through Jesus Christ alone are we made "alive unto God. " If we are dead to sin, then it wil lose its power over us. If we are alive to God, we will respond in love and obedience to his Word and his Spirit

Help us to live this day as dead indeed to sin and alive indeed to you, O Lord. You are the source of our life and the focus of our life. All of the spiritual exercises that you animate in us are directed back to you as the object of our affection and praise. With renewed minds and wills, let us serve you out of pure heart faithfully. In Jesus name Amen.

That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. 2 Timothy 1:14

Cling to Jesus as a branch to a vine. Engrave God’s word on the tablet of your heart. We’ve been given a great treasure, the knowledge of God and His saving grace. And it is something that is worth holding on to and protecting. And God gives us His Spirit, to guard our knowledge by His wisdom so that we do not lose hold of what we’ve been given.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for opening my eyes to the truth of Your grace. Please fill me with Your Spirit, so that Your wisdom may never depart from me. May Your truth grow deep roots within my heart, and may you open my eyes and mind to be always discerning and watchful for the temptations and lies that would try to steal Your truth away from me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.and Amen!

Luke 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Lose your life to find life. This is one of the great paradoxes of the Christian faith. But when we understand that the life that this world offers is so incomplete and ultimately leads to death, we start to make sense of Jesus’ words. When we surrender to the life that Jesus calls us to, we become fully alive, people of hope, free to pursue the pursuits of God’s kingdom, instead of the temporal pursuits that the world offers.

Prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for giving me new life. I surrender my life to You and ask that You use me where You want to use me. You have given me hope and security and made me a citizen of Your kingdom. Fill me with Your Spirit, so that I may live a life worthy of Your name for Your kingdom’s sake. In Jesus’ name, amen.
