The eruption of Mount Kanlaon on December 9, 2024 presented a challenging situation for our community. Many residents sought refuge, and we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our LGU, DSWD and community leaders. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in a spirit of service, readily offered its chapel as an evacuation center, providing a safe haven for those displaced by the eruption. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our ever-supportive mayor, [insert name], and all those who worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone affected. We also express our sincere appreciation to the dedicated members of our church who volunteered their time and energy to assist at the evacuation center, and to the camp manager, [insert name], for her exceptional leadership and guidance.

Together, we stand united in the face of adversity, demonstrating the true meaning of community spirit and resilience. We’re all in this together!

Seminary students from the La Castellana Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints attended the Super Saturday activity facilitated by the La Carlota District.

The students eagerly prepared days prior to the activity with the guidance of their seminary teacher and participated in the games — such as Message Relay, Scrambled Sentences, and Pinoy Henyo — with zeal, showcasing their knowledge of the scripture, strengthening their faith by heeding the words of the speakers, and making meaningful connections with fellow seminary students from the different wards.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Primary organization in La Castellana Branch has recently embarked on an innovative and engaging activity - pizza making. This event was supervised by the Primary presidency and supported by the branch presidency, ensuring a well-organized and successful endeavor.

The objective of this activity was twofold. First, it aimed to instill the value of self-reliance in the children. By actively participating in the pizza-making process, the children gained a valuable insight into the effort and steps involved in creating a meal, a skill that promotes independence and self-sufficiency.

Second, this activity was designed to reinforce their testimony to the Savior, Jesus Christ. Through this shared experience of pizza making, the children were encouraged to reflect on the teachings of the Church and deepen their faith.

This combination of practical skills and spiritual growth makes this activity a comprehensive learning experience for the children at the La Castellana Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Primary organization. The pizza-making event was not just about crafting a delicious meal, but also about nurturing personal development and spiritual growth among the young members of the Church.

Sister Jolly Mae Dalisay has successfully completed her full-time missionary service, which spanned over a period of 1 year and 6 months, in the Philippines Cauyan Mission. Despite the inherent challenges and struggles that come with such a commitment, she remained steadfast and continued to serve our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ with unwavering faith and determination.

Her journey was not an easy one, and while her family might not be fully aware of the hardships she encountered, her perseverance is a testament to her devotion. Sister Dalisay's experience serves as a powerful encouragement to the youth, inspiring them to dedicate themselves to the service of our Savior through full-time missionary work.

Her story is a beautiful reminder that while missionary service can be difficult, the rewards, both spiritual and personal, are immense. It's not just about the destination, but also the journey, and the growth that comes with it. She has shown that with faith, resilience, and dedication, one can make a significant difference in their community and their own spiritual journey. 🌟

"Every day, take a moment to ponder the wisdom found within the pages of the Book of Mormon. Approach your study with an open heart and a prayerful mindset. As you read, mark verses that speak of the Savior and highlight principles that resonate with your soul. Remember, the goal is not just to read, but to truly understand and apply the teachings in your life. So, grab a copy of the Book of Mormon, find a quiet space, and let the words inspire and guide you on your spiritual journey. Happy pondering!" 📖✨
