Last July 13โ14, 2026, our church was blessed to be represented at the Preaching Collaborative Seminar held at La Paz Church of the Nazarene, Iloilo City by Rev. Dave Genobis, Ptra. Lyn Genobis, and Sis. Laine Obregon.
This collaborative gathering brought together Pastors, Pastors' Wives, and Layman Leaders from the Panay and Negros Districts for two days of learning, encouragement, and sharpening in the ministry of preaching.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Brad Paradee of Long Beach Church of the Nazarene for faithfully sharing his wisdom, experience, and passion for proclaiming God's Word. One of the major highlights of the seminar was learning the One-Point Sermon approachโpreaching that centers on one clear biblical truth with the goal of transformation rather than simply transferring information. It reminded us that the purpose of preaching is not merely to inform people, but to lead them to encounter God's truth in a way that changes their lives.
A memorable part of the seminar was that every participant had the opportunity to preach a One-Point Sermon. After each message, we received thoughtful encouragement and constructive feedback from fellow participants, followed by a coaching session with Dr. Paradee. Those moments challenged us, stretched us, and gave us practical ways to continue growing as preachers of the Gospel.
Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the Philippine Micronesia Field, especially Field Strategy Coordinator Rev. Arnel Pilin, for making this collaborative possible. Thank you for your vision and commitment to equipping pastors and church leaders to faithfully proclaim the Gospel.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to District Superintendent Rev. Danny Sison and his family, as well as the Panay District, for their warm hospitality in opening the Panay District Center to the Negros District delegates. From Sunday evening until Wednesday morning, they graciously opened the Panay District Center for our accommodation. Their kindness, generosity, and genuine hospitality made our stay comfortable and meaningful. We truly felt at home, and we are deeply thankful for the love and care they extended to us throughout our time in Iloilo.
As we return to our respective churches, we do so with renewed passion, fresh insights, practical tools, and a deeper commitment to faithfully preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May the lessons we have learned continue to bear fruit as we serve our congregations and communities for God's glory.
