The CBCP issued a circular Saturday urging the faithful to wear white every Sunday in October and November and to display white ribbons in homes, churches, and public spaces as a prayer “for transparency, accountability, and good governance, and as a humble prayer that our nation may be washed clean and renewed in God’s mercy, and spared of further calamities.”

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of 𝗙𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼 (𝗙𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴) 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗼 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗼𝗯𝗿𝗮 at St. Elizabeth Hospital last night after a lingering illness.

Fr. Buenaobra was born on June 17, 1938 in Dumalag, Capiz.

𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙚𝙡 𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 28, 1971, 𝙗𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘽𝙥. 𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙙 𝘼𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙨, 𝘾.𝙋.

Among his former assignments, Fr. Buenaobra served as Vicar General of the diocese for many years.

Before his death, he was a 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉, 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒂, 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒐.

Priests all over the Diocese of Marbel, headed by Bishop Cerilo U. Casicas D.D. , gathered at the Christ the King Cathedral last April 15, 2025 to celebrate the Chrism Mass and the Renewal of their Priestly Promises.

The Eucharistic Celebration was attended by the lay faithful of the Diocese of Marbel
