Our children extension class wrapped up on a high note, diving into the powerful principle of Matthew 5:16: "Let your light shine before men..." We explored how this principle applies to us as Christians under grace, not law. ๐Ÿ’ก
Our "light" is the visible evidence of the Holy Spirit living in us (Ephesians 5:8), shining through Christ-like character - love, compassion, and honesty. It's about reflecting God's love and grace in a world that needs it. ๐ŸŒŽ

As we continue our yearly theme of "Be Christ-like," this October, our foundational principle, "Be Christ-like, Know," establishes that truly knowing Christ is the basis upon which Christ-likeness is built. Our focus lesson this month is that eternal life is defined as knowing God. This knowledge goes beyond simple intellectual understanding; it's the profound, personal, and transformative intimacy that comes from spending dedicated time with Him.
The closer we come to know Christ through prayer, studying His Word, and understanding His will, the more His nature flows into our own.

These are the four key lessons the kids learnt and the things God wants them to know in their lives.

Objective: For the kids to understand that knowing God personally is the foundation of faith.

Lesson 2๐Ÿ“–: Be Christ-like, Know God's Word.
Story: Jesus hears God's voice (Matthew 4:1-11).
Objective: For the kids to learn that the Bible is God's guide for their lives.

Lesson 3๐Ÿ“–: Be Christ-like, Know God's will.
Story: Paul's conversion and calling (Acts 9:1-19).
Objective: For the kids to understand that God has a purpose for their lives and wants them to follow His plan.

Lesson 4๐Ÿ“–: Be Christ-like, Know Who you are in Christ.
Story: We are God's children (John 1:12).
Objective: For the kids to realize their identity as children of God and their worth in Him.

๐˜”๐˜ฆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ: Psalm 66:16 - "Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul."

"Be Christ-like and testify" is about to live a life that reflects Jesus's teachings and to share our personal experiences and faith with others, both through our actions and words.
This involves a combination of prayer, studying the Scriptures to be prepared to answer questions, sharing the gospel, living a life of love and service, and telling our personal story of how Christ has transformed our life to encourage and lead others to a relationship with Him.
Our testimony is a personal expression of what we believe concerning the gospel, and living in a Christ-like manner allows us to testify to others.

Here are the four lessons the kids learned and areas they can testify for others:

Story: The Man Healed from Demons Shares His Story (Matthew 8:28-34, Mark 5:1-20)
Objective: For the kids to understand that sharing what God has done in their lives helps others grow in faith.

๐“›๐“ฎ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ธ๐“ท 2 Testify through Action_
Story: Daniel Remains Faithful to God (Daniel 6:1-23)
Objective: For the kids to learn that their actions can reflect God's love and be a testimony to others, even as Daniel's faithfulness did.

๐“›๐“ฎ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ธ๐“ท 3.Testify with Boldness_
Story: Peter and John Boldly Preach about Jesus (Acts 4:8-20)
Objective: For the kids to overcome fear and be bold in sharing their faith with others, just as Peter and John were.

๐“›๐“ฎ๐“ผ๐“ผ๐“ธ๐“ท 4. Testify to the World_
Story: The Woman at the Well Shares about Jesus (John 4:28-30, 39)
Objective: For the kids to understand that their testimony is meant to reach and inspire others beyond their immediate circle, just as the woman's testimony did in Samaria."
