Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

On Wednesday morning, a massive landslide and flash flood hit the Nepal–Tibet border causing extreme destruction, leaving hundreds of people dead or missing.

In the midst of this tragedy, let us pause and pray for those affected. Pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones, protection for those still in danger, strength for rescuers and communities, and peace for all who are grieving.

Lord, we look to You as our refuge and strength. Be near to those who are hurting, bring hope in the midst of devastation, and surround the people of Nepal with Your peace and presence. Amen.

We have a new series entitled, Theology of Work.

We often see the workday as something mundane, something that we just need to get through. From the first ringing alarm to the end of our shift, many times "work" is just "what we do between rest days."

On the other hand, we often see church as something ritual, something that makes the rest of our week holy.

The truth is that there is no mundane versus ritual, no sacred versus secular. Work is worship, part of our holy calling.

In the next three weeks, let us study the theology of work: how God designed work for us to flourish, and to reflect His glory in our communities.

When God calls, courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s choosing to trust Him and take the next step.
