Statement of Faith
THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible, composed of the 66 books, 39 in the Old and 27 in the New Testament, is complete and fully inspired by God, infallible and inerrant in its original manuscripts. References: Psalm 119:160; Proverbs 30:5; Matthew 5:18; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21
GOD
We believe that there is only one true God who created everything seen and un
seen. He is eternally existing in Three Persons, namely God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections such as all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present, sovereign, just, loving, true, faithful, and holy. JESUS
We believe in Jesus, the only Son of God, existed with the Father before all ages, begotten not made. He was and is truly God and truly man, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He was crucified and died to demonstrate God’s love and redeem sinful mankind. He was buried, resurrected, ascended bodily into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He is our High Priest, Advocate, and the only Mediator between God and man. He will one day return to judge the living and the dead, and rule for eternity. HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ in all that He does. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union with Christ and adopted as heirs in the family of God. He also indwells, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service. MAN
We believe that man is created by God in His image and likeness to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever. However, because of Adam’s sin, man inherited a sinful nature and fell short of God’s glory, coming under God’s wrath resulting in physical and spiritual death. Only through God’s saving work in Jesus Christ can man be redeemed, reborn, reconciled, and renewed. SALVATION
We believe that salvation from sin and its consequences is by the grace of God apart from works, through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Saving faith is believing in His all-sufficient atoning death and victorious resurrection. A saved person is justified, is being sanctified, and will be glorified in Christ. BAPTISM
We believe that baptism is an ordinance of the Lord by which those who have repented and come to faith express their union with Christ in His death and resurrection. It is not a means for salvation. The person is to be baptized with water in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. References: Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; 8:36-39; 10:47-48; Romans 6:3-10
LORD’S SUPPER
We believe that the Lord‘s Supper is an ordinance of the Lord in which believers gather together to eat bread, signifying Christ‘s body, and drink the cup, signifying the New Covenant in Christ‘s blood. We do this in remembrance of the Lord and proclaim His death until He comes. Those who eat and drink in a worthy manner partake of Christ‘s body and blood by faith. However, it is not a means for salvation. The bread and the cup remain the same substance as they were before consumed. References: Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30
THE CHURCH
We believe that the true universal church comprises all believers chosen in Christ, justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the Head, and united by the Holy Spirit. Their ultimate purpose is to glorify God, to proclaim Christ in words and deeds, and to make disciples of all nations. References: Matthew 5:16; 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Romans 15:5-6; 1 Corinthians 10:31; 12:12-14; Ephesians 4:4-6; 5:23
THE RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ will return to this earth personally, visibly, physically, and suddenly in power and great glory at the end of the age, at a time only known to God. He will gather His elect, raise the dead, judge all people, and establish His kingly rule for eternity. It demands our constant expectation, serves as our blessed hope, and motivates us to godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission. ETERNAL DESTINY
We believe in the resurrection of the physical body of both the righteous and the unrighteous. The righteous are those who believe in Christ and His finished work on the cross, while the unrighteous are those who suppress the truth about Christ. God will assign the righteous to eternal life of blessedness and joy with the Lord in Heaven and the unrighteous to eternal punishment in Hell.
