DID YOU KNOW?

PRAYER can affect more than your thoughtsβ€”it can be accompanied by measurable changes in the body.

A systematic review of experimental studies on prayer found measurable changes in brain activity, heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, cardiovascular activity, and other physiological functions during prayer (Chin et al., 2021).

Another randomized study found that participants who received regular prayer sessions showed improvements in anxiety, depression, optimism, and daily spiritual experiences compared with the control group (Boelens et al., 2009).

The Bible said it first.

β€œBe careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” β€”Philippians 4:6–7 (KJV)

The Bible never presents prayer as merely asking God for things.

Prayer brings our worries to God, and Scripture speaks of the peace of God guarding both the heart and the mind.

Science can measure some of what happens to the person who prays.

Faith recognizes the One to whom we pray.

✨ Being a true disciple of Jesus is more than simply believing in Him. It is a lifelong commitment to follow Him, grow in His Word, live a disciplined life, bear spiritual fruit, love others, and remain faithful through every season.

πŸ“– Luke 14:26
πŸ“– Matthew 11:29

A true disciple is someone who allows God to cultivate their life and produce lasting spiritual growth.

A true disciple:
β€’ lives a disciplined life
β€’ continually learns from Jesus
β€’ bears much fruit of the Spirit
β€’ loves others
β€’ loves Jesus above every earthly relationship
β€’ is willing to bear their cross
β€’ is willing to forsake all
β€’ makes Jesus their Lord and Master
β€’ is willing to suffer for Jesus Christ
β€’ follows Jesus because of who He is
β€’ does not follow Him only for signs, wonders, or material benefits

Discipleship is not a temporary commitment or simply something we do at church. It is a lifelong walk of becoming more like Jesus Christ every day.

The root determines the fruit. When we remain rooted in Christ, His Word, and His Spirit, our lives should reflect genuine spiritual growth.

β€œEvery disciple is a believer, but not every believer is a disciple.”

May we continue to grow deeper in Christ, remain faithful in every season, and allow Him to cultivate us into the disciples He has called us to be.

πŸ‚The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever. In a changing world, His Word is the one thing we can stand on.
Here's Sunday's recap-hear the message that never loses its power!

SUNDAY'S BEST RECAP!
August 23, 2026
Preacher: Bishop Gamaliel C. CataluΓ±a

β€œTHE 3 F’S OF CHRISTIAN VICTORY”
-1 Timothy 6:2-12

1. FLEE

β€œBut thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”
-1 Timothy 6:11 (KJV)

2. FOLLOW

The second F of victory is β€œfollow”, this word is a broad word that carries many things. But Paul, he singled out the things that we should follow or pursue.

3. FIGHT

β€œFight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
-1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV)

Church, we are called in a battle. Christian life is a battle ground not a playground. So fight!
