PART II | "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me." – Matthew 25:40 ❤️

Today was not merely about visiting homes—it was about creating moments that reminded our elders they are loved, valued, and embraced by both God and the community. In every conversation, every prayer, and every tear of joy, we witnessed how even the simplest act of love can become a living testimony of God's boundless grace.

We thank God for the gift of our elderly, whose lives continue to inspire us with their steadfast faith. May the Lord bless them with good health, peace, and abundant grace.

🌹 A Celebration of Love, Joy, and Gratitude for Our Beloved Elderly 🌹

Elderly Month Celebration | July 26, 2026

It was more than just a celebration of Elderly Month, it was a day of reminding our beloved lolo ug lola that they are seen, remembered, valued, and deeply loved. 🥹❤️

Through the songs offered by the DYA Group “Kahit Maputi Na ang Buhok Ko” and “Salamat” by Yeng Constantino, we tried to speak what words sometimes fail to express:

“Lolo, Lola… ayaw ninyo hunahunaa nga kamo ra usa. Ania kami. Gihigugma namo kamo. Ug samtang ania pa mo, gusto namo nga mobati mo sa kalipay nga angay ninyo madawat.” 🫂❤️

Sa pagkatigulang, daghan tingali sila og mga kahadlok, kabalaka, ug mga pangutana samtang gaihap sa ilang pangidaron og isa na niana ang bahin sa ilang katapusang panaw. Apan niining adlawa, gusto namo nga dili ang katapusan ang ilang hunahunaon—kundili ang gugma nga ania pa karon.

Ug tingali, mao kini ang pinakabililhon nga bahin sa among selebrasyon…

Wala namo sila gipa adto aron lamang sa selebrasyon. Kami ang miadto kanila. 🥺

Sa matag balay usab nga among ge bisita, among nakita dili lamang ang ilang kahuyang, apan ang mga kinabuhi nga puno sa istorya, sakripisyo, paglahutay, ug gugma.

Ug sa matag gakos, pahiyom, luha, ug halok, usa ka butang ang among nasabtan:

Dili diay kinahanglan og dagkong butang aron mapalipay ang usa ka tigulang. Usahay, ang ilang gikinahanglan mao ra ang atong presensya.
Ang paglingkod uban kanila.
Ang pagpaminaw sa ilang istorya.
Ang pagkupot sa ilang kamot.
Ang usa ka hug.
Ug ang pagsulti, “Lola, Lolo, wala mo namo kalimti, unongan mo namo sa kanunay it's because we love you.” 🥹❤️

Kay moabot ang panahon nga kita usab mahimong sama kanila.
Ug tingali, sa umaabot nga panahon, dili na nato pangitaon ang dagkong regalo. Ang atong pangitaon mao ang presensya sa mga tawo nga atong gihigugma.

Mao nga samtang ania pa sila—
bisitaha sila.
paminawa sila.
gaksa sila.
haloka sila.
ipabati kanila ang tinuod nga "I love you."

Kay ang oras dili nato mapugngan.
Ang panahon molabay.
Ug ang mga higayon nga wala nato nahatag karon, basin dili na nato mahatag ugma. 🥺

To all our beloved Lolo and Lola, this celebration is our little way of saying:

“Salamat sa inyong kinabuhi. Salamat sa inyong gugma. Salamat sa inyong mga sakripisyo. Ug labaw sa tanan, salamat kay nahimo kamong panalangin sa among kinabuhi.” ❤️

Walking in faith, united in prayer, and inspired by the life and mission of our beloved patron, San Vicente Ferrer. 🙏

Last April 22, 2023, our GKK community witnessed again a meaningful and new way of prosesyon — a reflection of the mission of San Vicente Ferrer to go forth, awaken hearts, and preach the Word of God to others. Guided by the lively and solemn sounds of the DLC Band, serving as our diana, the faithful joyfully walked together while praying the Holy Rosary, creating an atmosphere of devotion, unity, and spiritual renewal. ✨🎺📿

This activity reminded us that our faith is not only celebrated within the church but also shared through our actions, prayers, and love for one another. As we walked together, we carried not only the image of our patron saint but also the mission of spreading God’s word and goodness within the community.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our generous sponsors who shared their blessings by giving free lugaw to everyone after the procession, to Hon. Edgardo L. Timbol, ma'am Ma. Theresa R. Timbol and to Hon. Kim Quesada, to the nutrition staff of LGU Kapalong who prepared this delicious lugaw, ma'am Rowena Sabio Mabongcas, your kindness and support truly added warmth and joy to this celebration. 🍲💛

To the organizers, DYA Team headed by Wendell Padpad, Narra National High School DLC Band coordinated by ma'am Aizel Ronquillo and headed by ma'am Gretchen Mhee P. Llaneta, PhD, NNHS DLC trainor sir Marvin Algonas, Gkk Narra Catechist, to Mr. and Mrs. Alfe Ambrosio for always lending their vehicle to make the DLC band accomodated and to everyone who participated and supported this successful activity — daghang salamat kaayo. Your presence, cooperation, and faith made this celebration more meaningful and memorable for our GKK family. A night of beauty, confidence, culture, and youth empowerment — Hiyas ng Kabataan 2026 has truly become one of the highlights of the celebration of the 44th Founding Anniversary and Patronal Fiesta of GKK Narra.
