With hearts united in prayer and remembrance, the Barangay sang Virgen – Diocese of Kalibo solemnly commemorates the 1st Death Anniversary of our beloved former Diocesan President, +Bro. Edmundo N. Lim.

In gratitude for his life of faith, service, and dedication to the Church, a Holy Mass was offered, presided over by Msgr. Frederick G. Malacas, our Diocesan Spiritual Director. This Eucharistic celebration was lovingly sponsored by the Barangay sang Virgen as a tribute to his enduring legacy among us.

May the Lord grant eternal rest to +Bro. Edmundo, and may his example continue to inspire us to serve with humility, devotion, and love.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Villareal, D.D., on his Episcopal Ordination and Canonical Installation as the 5th Bishop of the Diocese of Kalibo. His ordination marks a grace-filled beginning of a new chapter in the life of the local Churchβ€”one rooted in faith, communion, and pastoral service.

As Bishop Cyril begins his episcopal ministry, we entrust him to the loving care of God, praying that he may lead with wisdom, courage, and a shepherd’s heartβ€”faithful, humble, and compassionate in guiding the People of God.

The Barangay sang Virgen Parish of St. John the Baptist recently paid a special visit to one of our pioneering members, Sis. Rebecca β€œJovit” Dela Cruz, who is now 98 years old and will be celebrating her 99th birthday this coming December. As part of our apostolate to visit the sick and the elderly, the community gathered around Nanay Jovit to offer her our Pagbinarangay songsβ€”melodies of prayer, love, and unity.

During our visit, Nanay Jovit joyfully reminisced about her younger years, especially her time as one of the Samaritanas of β€œSaMARIA.” She fondly recalled how she used to play the violin with great skill and devotion, contributing her music to the life of the parish and the community.

The visit became a beautiful moment of connection between generationsβ€”honoring her legacy, celebrating her life, and reminding us of the enduring grace and faith that she has shared with the Barangay sang Virgen for decades. Her stories and gentle smiles continue to inspire us to serve with compassion, humility, and love.
