The homily centered on the question Jesus asked His disciples: “Who do you say I am?” While others had different opinions about Jesus, Peter boldly professed, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Through Peter, we are reminded of the Church and its leaders, who are called to continue spreading God's Word. Jesus Himself is the foundation of the Church, and He entrusted Peter with the authority to lead. Despite Peter's weaknesses and even his denial of Jesus, the Lord still chose him, showing that God's calling is not limited by our failures.
The homily challenges each of us to personally answer the question, “Who is Jesus to me?” Our answer should not remain only in words but must be reflected in the way we live. Like Peter, we may fail, but through God's grace, we are continually given the opportunity to become instruments of Christ, especially to those who are in need. We are called to examine our lives, submit ourselves to the Lord, and live in a way that reflects His love and mercy. If we truly believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, then that faith must come alive in our hearts and be translated into our actions.
