1 Thessalonians 1:3

"We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;"

👉"Lord, make my faith stronger." "Give me more power." "Give me more knowledge." We pray for these things often, but when did you last thank God for making your love grow? Can you think of a more exciting thing to say about your church than, "Your love for each other is getting stronger?" Let's pray and work for it!

Prayer 🙏☝️😇🧎

Holy God, fill us with your love so much that we can share it with everyone we meet every day. May this love grow and spread so that others can easily see its benefits and know that it's a direct result of how much you've loved us. Help our love grow through the power of your Spirit. In Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen.

“Elijah replied to her, “how can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”
2 Kings 4:2

A small amount offered generously is always more than enough when placed in God’s hands. In 2 Kings chapter 4, a poor widow asked the prophet Elisha for financial assistance. He told her to take inventory of her own resources, reach out to her neighbors for help, then follow his instructions. In a miraculous display of provision, God use the widow’s small amount of oil to fill all the jars she collected from her neighbors. Elisha told her, “sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your son’s can live on what is left.“
When we focus on what we do not have, we risk missing out on watching God do great things with what we do have.

When has God multiplied your resources in a miraculous way?
When is God used you to combine your resources with the gifts of others to meet a bigger need in your community?

God’s provision was as large as the widows faith and willingness to obey. Beware of limiting God’s blessing by a lack of faith and obedience.

Psalm 97:10

"Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked."

👉What a strong and brave word "hate" is. We shouldn't hate other people. We must hate what's bad. This is a hard combination to pull off, but it is essential. Because of the Evil One, who is the leader of hate, lies, and death, there is evil in the world. So, when bad things happen, let's be brave and stand up to Satan and his work. Let's pray for those who are caught in its web, even if they think we are their enemies.

Prayer 🙏☝️😇🧎

Almighty God, make the bad things in our world hurt our heart. Give us a holy disgust for things that go against your will and your character. Yet, Father, just as you saved us from sin and saved us by your grace, give us the courage to care about those who are in the Evil One's grip. In Jesus' precious name we pray. Amen.

“Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.“
Psalms 143:11

For believers in Jesus, it’s not enough to acknowledge what’s going on within us to ourselves, to our friends, or to medical specialists. We must earnestly come to God - thoughts, and all - with prayers that include the earnest petitions found in psalms 143:7–10. Our dark moments Can also be times for deep prayers – seeking the light only God can bring.
