This coming Ash Wednesday (Miércoles de Ceniza) marks the beginning of the Lenten season- a sacred time of prayer, fasting, and abstinence.

Catholics aged 18 to 59 are required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, except for those who are sick, senior citizens, and those taking maintenance medications. When fasting, one full meal is permitted, along with two smaller meals that together do not equal a full meal.

Catholics aged 14 and above are required to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays during Lent.

The Mass schedule for Ash Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Parish- Jovellar, Albay is at 6:30 AM.
