One more Easter song before I go to sleep! This is another song that captures the most personal of moments—this time between Peter and Jesus, even though they find themselves in the middle of historic events.

In our times, where people are pushed and grouped into classes, ethnicities, and various tribes. It’s important to remember that all of those things mean nothing to Jesus. HE IS THE GOD OF THE INDIVIDUAL.

I love the way this song depicts the moment that Mary realizes Jesus when she encountered Him outside the tomb in the gospel of John chapter 20 verse 16. The songwriter adds, “It’s me” Making this moment even more personal. “Mary, it’s me.” He didn’t trumpet, “It is I, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.” No, he called her by her name. She had heard Him say it so many times before that she knew instantly by the familiar sound alone that it was Him and she rushes to Jesus.

What an extraordinary, personal moment. As he is traversing between Heaven and Hell, defeating Satan, destroying the power of sin, and ascending to God the Father in heaven, he stops to speak to His friend, “Mary”.
