Talk 6: Life in the Holy Spirit

Empowered by the Holy Spirit and strengthened through a powerful pray-over session.🙏🔥

Talk 6 was very special. Our speaker exhorted the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and its work on the Apostles that led to multiple nations accepting Christ. Through teaching, conviction, comfort and guidance, the Holy Spirit plays a vital role in our spiritual life. For this reason, invoking the Holy Spirit in our journey as Christians is key to a powerful spiritual experience which also brings about an atmosphere of faith, peace and openness to God’s presence.

Talk 5 - The Christian Family

Bro Rey Gomez’s family reminds us that keeping God at the center of our family is about allowing His love and grace to influence our family dynamics. The family as the basic unit of society serves as a training ground for spiritual growth, service, forgiveness and love. With the Holy Family as our guide, we can always find peace and solace in our homes despite our busy lifestyle and dire circumstances.

A Reflection 🔎

The two greatest commandments God has given are, first: 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍, 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉; and second: 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒃𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇.

Indeed, each of us has a longing for God, whether we realize it or not. When we pursue happiness and peace that this world cannot satisfy, our hearts unconsciously search for God amidst the wilderness. Only when we are profoundly united with Him do we experience the immense joy of being His beloved.

The one who loves God loves his neighbors. Let us love our neighbors as ourselves as God commanded, however difficult it is. Let our love for the Lord be reflected in living our mission which is to live a joyful and holy life that reflects the radiance of God's love and to share this with our neighbors — our family, our friends, and everyone we meet.

Loving God and our neighbor can be done simply: by offering heartfelt prayers, giving our presence and listening ears, praying for others, cooking meals for those in need, caring for the sick and children, offering seats, helping someone cross the street, praying when an ambulance passes, choosing not to gossip, offering hugs, sharing gentle smiles and so on. When you do good deeds, don’t seek gratitude for yourself, but rather, let people know that you are merely a servant of God, and that it is He who is doing good for them.

Jun deepened our understanding of “Repentance and Faith,” highlighting the art of letting go and surrendering to God’s will, even when it’s difficult, because living in His light also means walking the path of true obedience and righteousness. A powerful testimony was shared, reminding us of the importance of sincere repentance that opens our hearts to healing and allows faith to flourish in our actions. By embracing God’s grace, we unlock profound peace and discover joy even in life’s simplest moments. Let’s walk this path of renewal together!

Talk 2: Who is Jesus Christ

A Reflection 🔎

Jesus is far more than a mere historical figure or a compelling moral teacher. He is God. Through His cross and resurrection, His true identity is fully revealed. Recognizing Jesus’ unique divine and human nature is essential for authentic evangelization, as it shapes the very life and practice of the Christian faith.

When Jesus is called the “Son of Man,” it refers to the second Person of the Holy Trinity taking on human flesh. In His profound love, God became like us—with all our limits, sorrows, and frailty—to show us how to become like Him, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit.

To proclaim that Jesus is God—both in His time and today—is to embrace suffering, ridicule, mockery, and even persecution. His teaching is profoundly radical, challenging the limitations of our human flesh: our greed, vanity, unfaithfulness, and pride. Yet, Jesus also calls us to a radical love: to love our neighbors as ourselves, to love even those who persecute us, to willingly offer ourselves in service, and, if needed, to give our lives for our friends.

Let us strive to love like Jesus and to love Him as we should.

Talk 1: God's Love

On Day 1 of our Christian Life Program, we kicked off with a captivating session led by Fr. Walter Tubis.

He spoke about God’s unconditional love for us and how our love for Him springs entirely from His love for us.

We love Him simply because He first loved us: a love without limits, no sin too great to be forgiven, no life too broken to be restored, and no distance too vast to be redeemed.
