FROM MY PAST TO A NEW LIFE
Every person has a story. There are chapters in life that we are not proud of, decisions we wish we had made differently, and seasons when we did not know where life was really taking us.
But I have learned one important thing:
A person does not have to remain in his past.
My past is part of my story, but it no longer defines who I am today.
2012 โ FRATERNITY
In 2012, I became part of a fraternity.
As time passed, I became more than just an ordinary member. I became involved in organizing and establishing chapters, serving as a Chapter Organizer/Founder in several chapters.
Through that experience, I learned how to lead, deal with different kinds of people, organize, and carry responsibilities.
I learned many things during that season of my lifeโabout leadership, loyalty, friendship, and dealing with people.
But as time went by, I also realized that God had a greater purpose for my life.
2018 โ RAPPER AND BATTLE MC
In 2018, I entered the world of rap music.
I became a rapper and Battle MC. The microphone became a way for me to express my words, talents, experiences, and perspectives.
I experienced standing before people and competing through battle rap.
Through that journey, I developed greater confidence in speaking and using words.
But as my world in music grew, there was still a question in my heart:
โWhat is the real purpose of the talent God has given me?โ
At that time, I did not fully understand the answer.
2022 โ THE TURNING POINT
Then came 2022, an important turning point in my life.
I came to know the Seventh-day Adventist Church more deeply, and above all, I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ more personally.
This was when the direction of my life began to change.
Little by little, I realized that the true purpose of life is not merely about fraternity, leadership, music, recognition, or talent.
There is a higher calling:
To live for Christ.
It was not easy. Change is a process. There were things from my past that I needed to leave behind, perspectives that needed to change, and things that I needed to surrender to God.
But the more I came to know Jesus, the more I understood the importance of His grace and truth.
FROM THE MICROPHONE TO THE MESSAGE
Before, I held the microphone for rap.
Now, I desire to use my voice for the Word of God.
Before, I used my abilities to compete in battle rap.
Now, I use my knowledge and abilities to defend biblical truth and the Seventh-day Adventist faith.
This does not mean that I am fighting against people.
What I am standing for is the truth found in the Bible, while choosing to remain respectful and loving toward others.
As Jesus said:
โAnd you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.โ โ John 8:32
TODAY โ ACTIVE IN THE SDA CHURCH
Today, I continue to be active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
From someone who was once part of a fraternity, became a Chapter Organizer/Founder, became a rapper and Battle MC, I am now someone who uses his voice for ministry and for defending the SDA faith.
I am not claiming to be perfect.
I still have weaknesses.
I still make mistakes.
There are still many things I need to learn.
But I know that the direction of my life has changed.
Christ is now at the center.
THE OLD TALENT, A NEW PURPOSE
I do not need to throw away everything I learned from my past.
I now use the leadership skills I learned for ministry.
I use my confidence in speaking for preaching.
I use my experience in rap and Battle MC to become clearer and more courageous in sharing the message.
And above all, I use my life to introduce people to Jesus Christ.
If people once listened to my voice because of rap, my prayer now is that people will hear the message of God's Word through my life.
I AM NOT THE ONE WHO DESERVES THE PRAISE
When I look at my journey, I do not say:
โLook at how great I am.โ
Instead, I say:
โLook at how good God is.โ
Because if I had followed only my own desires, my life might have taken a completely different direction.
But God came into my life and gave me a new perspective, a new purpose, and a new direction.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says:
โTherefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.โ
My past cannot be erased.
But God can use it as a testimony.
MY MESSAGE
If there are people who knew me from my past and now see where I am today, I want them to know this:
Change is not impossible when you allow God to work in your life.
From 2012 โ a fraternity member,
from becoming a Chapter Organizer/Founder,
to 2018 โ a rapper and Battle MC,
and in 2022 โ coming to know Christ and the SDA faith more deeply,
and now โ active in SDA ministry and using my voice to defend biblical truth.
The voice I once used for battle is now being used for Bible study, preaching, ministry, and defending the faith.
The leadership I once used in other areas is now being used to serve God.
And the life that once searched for its own direction has learned to say:
โLord, You take the lead in my life.โ
I do not know what the next chapter will be.
But I know who I want to be with me in every chapter.
JESUS CHRIST.
And if there is anything good that people see in my life today, I do not want the glory to go to me.
All praise, honor, and glory belong to Jesus.
FROM FRATERNITY TO RAP
FROM RAP TO CHRIST
FROM TALENT TO MINISTRY
FROM THE MICROPHONE TO THE MESSAGE
FROM MY PAST TO GOD'S PURPOSE
To God alone be the glory.
