PRAYER FOR THE MONTH OF MAY

As May begins, we enter a sacred and beautiful season set aside by the Church to honor the Virgin Mary—our loving Mother, our comfort in times of need, and our guide toward holiness. This month is not just a change of calendar, but a gentle invitation to deepen our relationship with God through Mary, who always leads us to her Son, Jesus Christ. With hearts open to grace, we place all our hopes, struggles, and intentions into her hands, trusting that she will carry them to the Lord with tender care.

In this Month of Mary, may we grow in quiet prayer, faithful surrender, and loving obedience to God’s will. May we learn from her humility, her courage, and her unwavering trust—even in moments of uncertainty. As we begin this new month, we ask for her intercession, that our lives may be filled with peace, strengthened in faith, and renewed in love. United as one family in prayer, let us now turn to our Heavenly Father:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of a new month, a new beginning filled with grace and hope. As the Church honors Blessed Virgin Mary in a special way this May, draw our hearts closer to her Immaculate Heart. Teach us, like her, to say “yes” to Your will with trust and humility, even when the path is uncertain. Amen.

MONASTERY ROBBED!

The Monastery of our dear Poor Clare Sisters in Guibang has been looted in the late hours of Easter Sunday. A substantial amount was taken together with some other things. Those resources are vital to the daily operations of the Sacred Institution.

We appeal to all who have the heart like that of our generous Lord for donations for our dear Sisters. They have unwaveringly dedicated their lives in prayer to help us, it is time that we helped them in our own way.

THE 2 FEAST FOR ST. JOSEPH

Did you know that Saint Joseph is honored with two distinct feast days in the Catholic Church? Each one highlights a different aspect of his holy life and vocation.

March 19 – Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary: This is the more widely known feast, celebrating St. Joseph as the faithful spouse of Virgin Mary and the earthly guardian of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes his role in the Holy Family, his obedience to God, and his virtues of humility, courage, and protective love. This solemnity reminds us of the dignity of family life and faithful service to God.

May 1 – Feast of St. Joseph the Worker: Instituted by Pope Pius XII in 1955, this feast celebrates St. Joseph as the model of all workers, honoring his life as a carpenter and his dedication to honest labor. It emphasizes the value and dignity of work, encouraging Christians to approach their daily work with integrity, diligence, and love, just as St. Joseph did. This feast is also a beautiful reminder that work itself can be an act of holiness when done in the service of God and others.

Together, these two feasts show us both the personal holiness of St. Joseph in his family life and his exemplary witness in work. One day, we celebrate him as the devoted spouse and father figure; the other, we celebrate him as the laborer who sanctified ordinary work with faithfulness. Both aspects encourage us to follow his example in family, faith, and daily life.

So, whenever we honor St. Joseph, we are reminded that holiness can be lived quietly, faithfully, and in ordinary duties, whether it’s caring for loved ones or performing our daily work. He truly is a model for every Christian in every walk of life.
