“Back when I still didn’t know the Lord…”
I didn’t even understand the purpose of going to church.
I used to think it was just a routine—something people did because it was Sunday, something that didn’t really have meaning for me. I would see others worship, pray, and listen to the preaching, but I couldn’t understand why it mattered so much.
I thought life was all about surviving, working hard, and trying to figure things out on my own.
I thought strength came from me, and peace came from circumstances.
I thought everything depended on my effort.
But deep inside, I was restless.
There were questions I couldn’t answer.
There were wounds I couldn’t heal.
There was an emptiness I tried to fill with people, achievements, and busyness—but nothing lasted.
Then I met Him.
Not through religion, not through pressure, but through a quiet moment when I felt His love reaching into the areas of my life I tried to hide. Little by little, He opened my eyes.
And that’s when everything changed.
I understood why people go to church—
not to show off,
not to follow tradition,
but because we need His presence, His peace, His truth, and His Word.
I realized that His Word is not just a book we read…
It is life.
It is comfort.
It is correction.
It is strength.
It is the light that guides us when everything feels dark.
When I finally knew Him, I understood that His Word is not optional—
It is essential.
It’s what keeps us standing when life hits hard.
It’s what reminds us who we are and who He is.
It’s what brings healing to the places no one sees.
And now I know:
There is nothing more important than knowing Jesus and holding on to His Word.
Bible Verse:
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
— Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
