Your Calling Will Crush You Before It Anoints You
There are seasons when your calling feels less like a blessing and more like a burden. You pray, but the answers seem delayed. You obey, but instead of immediate breakthrough, you face pressure, rejection, loneliness, disappointment, and battles you never expected. You begin to ask, “Lord, why is this so hard?”
But sometimes, the pressure is not punishment. It is preparation.
God will often allow the process to break the parts of you that cannot carry the weight of the purpose He has placed inside you. Before David stood before Goliath, he was shaped in the hidden place. Before Joseph stepped into leadership, he endured betrayal, slavery, and prison. Before Jesus began His public ministry, He walked through the wilderness.
Your calling may require you to lose your comfort, your pride, your need for approval, and even relationships that cannot go where God is taking you. The crushing may expose weaknesses, purify your motives, deepen your faith, and teach you dependence on God.
Oil does not come from olives without pressure. Gold does not become pure without fire.
So don't despise the season that is stretching you.
The tears you cry in secret are not wasted. The prayers you whisper when you are exhausted are not forgotten. The battles you survive are building endurance. The doors that closed may be protecting you from places that were never part of God's plan.
You may feel crushed today, but God is not finished with you.
The process is painful, but the purpose is greater.
Keep praying. Keep obeying. Keep trusting. Keep walking even when you cannot see what God is preparing.
Because one day, you will look back and realize:
What you thought was breaking you was actually preparing you to carry what you prayed for.
The crushing is not the end.
The pressure is not your punishment.
It is preparation for the anointing.
Stay faithful. God is still shaping you.
