THOUGHTS l "What if last F-Camp ko na ni?"
A question that keeps on swirling in my mind like it's an alarm clock to reality. Everyone knows that nothing is consistent and sure in this world. We do not know where God will take us the next day, month, or year. And the only thing we can cling to is the hope that God will take us back to where we felt personal and spiritual growth.
The first time I entered f camp as a facilitator felt so new. Everyone is doing their tasks in the moment, while I stand there observing them. Gladly, i met a few youths there that instructed me to register and join. After a few minutes of going up and down the building, the division leader placed me in a group of people who I barely knew. "Welcome to Simeon Tribe! Sir? Nhel?" Yes... I finally felt like I am seen in a stranger's territory. Days past, memories flew, laughter heard, tears fell, and all came into conclusion. As I left the camp site, a question keeps on bothering my series of memory processing. "What if this is your last F-Camp?" I felt a heavy sting inside, as it hurts to think about seeing them for the first and the last time. If that's the scenario, then it's like I just made a quick escape from reality, to experience what real spiritual growth feels like. How I became attached to the people who only physically lasts for just a few days.
Yes, the connection is there, but online. Digital connection cannot and will never replace the warmth you'll feel when you meet the family you created for a few days once more. It saddens me, especially that it might be my last F-Camp due to future academic reasons. My mind may be mentally present, but i left my heart in the pyre of F-Camp 2026. I lived a life of wonderful surprises, laughed my soul out, and loved the essence of fellowship and being together with the Lord. But what woke me was an alarm, not a whistle. Therefore, this is your 'ever-so-smiling' facilitator, hoping that I will see you all in the next f camp and in heaven, Sir Nhel.
