DAPAT BANG MAGING VOCAL ANG ISANG PASTOR SA PULITIKO NA KANYANG SINUSUPORTAHAN?

The simple answer to this is, WAG NA LANG SANA.

Under normal circumstances, mas mabuti sanang sinasarili na lang niya kung sino yung gusto niyang politician, at political party.

Una sa lahat,

Ang focus dapat ng Pastor, ay ang ministry niya,

To shepherd the flock, the congregation, God has entrusted to him.

Na kung magiging vocal sya, mas maganda vocal sya kay Jesus, sa preaching of the Gospel, the good news

Furthermore,

He will be risking his Pastoral ministry unnecessarily, as for sure, iba iba ang gustong pulitiko at political party ng kanyang congregation,

At Pag naging sobrang vocal nya sa pulitika, it is possible, and this has happened many times na, na magkaroon ng division sa kanyang church, at yung mga iba ang gusto suportahan sa pulitika, pag nalaman na iba yung gusto ng Pastor, maging reason yun para sila ay Umalis sa church altogether.

However, I do understand, that sometimes, nagkakaroon ng leading at conviction ang isang Pastor, even concerning politics, lalo na pag ang issue na yung mga pangit na nangyayari sa ating bansa.

I understand the frustration.

I understand the struggle.

I understand the passion.

And how even some Pastors, are brought to that point, na gusto na nilang maging vocal, hindi lang sa pulitiko they are supporting, pero higit sa lahat, maging vocal sa pananaw nila concerning the country, the government, specially when there is widespread and worsening corruption.

For some, it’s just simply, not that simple.

Pero dapat nating itanong sa ating sarili,

Ano ba calling mo?

Ano ba ang Pastor?

Ano ba dapat focus nya?

Malinaw naman diba kung ano yun.

At sa totoo lang, dapat ipag pray at ministeran ng Pastor, pati yung ayaw nyang pulitiko.

Pano Nya magagawa yun, kung Sobra syang naging vocal sa iisang pulitiko?

Ako, kahit may gusto ako at ayaw na pulitiko, pinipili ko nalang na ipag pray sila lahat at maka kilala sa Lord.

Kung magiging vocal man ako as a Pastor, eto dapat ay maging vocal kay Jesus, maging vocal to preach the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

OK LANG BA NA HINDI KAYO PARE PAREHO NG STAND SA PULITIKA SA IISANG CHURCH?

And the simple answer to this should be YES.

Dahil if we live in a free democratic society, karapatan ng bawat mamamayan, or citizen, lalo na kung tax payer, na magkaroon ng sariling stand sa pulitika, na suportahan ang gusto nyang politician at political party.

But sadly, it’s never really that simple.

Sometimes pareho kayo ng Pastor mo at ng nakararaming members ng inyong church ng stand sa pulitika.

Sometimes hindi.

Dapat okay lang yun.

Sa akin, sa aming church, okay lang yun.

Malinaw sa akin, na hindi kami lagi pareho ng stand sa pulitika ng mga members ko sa church.

Actually, maraming beses, na hindi rin kami pareho ng stand sa pulitika ng sarili kong pamilya, at mga relatives.

Dapat okay lang yun.

Kaya nyo parin irespeto ang isat isa.

Kaya nyo parin mahalin ang isat isa.

Kayo nyo pag usapan ang pagkakaiba nyo sa pulitika na hindi kayo nag aaway, nagmumurahan, nagiinsultuhan, nananakot, at nagsusumbatan.

Wala rin dapat nagkakapikunan at nag li leave sa mga church at family group chat dahil sa away pulitika.

Dahil maraming beses na itong nangyari.

Tayo tayo nag aaway away sa church at families natin , in defense of our political positions, and worse, in defense of politicians.

Tatandaan natin, bilang Pastor, bilang Christian, ang focus dapat natin ay ang mga sumusunod:

Preach the Gospel

Make Disciples

Equip people for works of service

Appoint Leaders

Plant churches

Sana nga pare pareho tayo lagi ng stand sa pulitika, para united tayo lagi as a Church, and even sa mga families natin.

Eh kaso hindi yun ang reality.

It’s just really a mystery at times, bakit, kahit anong talino nating lahat, banal nating lahat, bait nating lahat, or even, kahit anong Biblical nating lahat, we end up looking at things, believing in things, so passionately, but all so totally differently.

I do know, that there are Pastors, there are religious groups, na kasama sa Beliefs, Doctrine, Theology , at By Laws nila, na dapat, united sila lagi, kahit sa political stand. They even do bloc voting as a religious group.

Kami hindi ganon.

Dapat ok lang.

Kasi bilang Pastor, kahit may political stand and positions ako, ang priority ko is to minister to the people God has entrusted to me.

Kaya, kung hindi rin lang natin kaya mag usap ng maayus pag politics na ang topic, kung ang ending mag aaway lang tayo, wag nyo nayan pag usapan sa loob ng church, sa inyong mga family gatherings, at kahit pa nga sa inyong mga group chats.

Huwag niyo narin pansinin ang kanya kanya niyong posts sa social media tungkol sa politics.

If you are passionate about your political stand, and you truly believe na Ikaw ang may tamang pananaw sa bagay na ito, there is one thing we can all agree on, we can all do.

It’s this.

PWEDE BANG LUMAHOK ANG PASTOR SA PULITIKA?

And the simple answer is YES.

Lalo na sa bansa kung saan siya citizen.

To vote for politicians and political parties during elections is widely accepted in a democratic society as a right, privilege, and civic responsibility.

Along the way, as we do this civic responsibility, we campaign and defend these politicians and political parties, during the elections and even after, specially kung nanalo sila.

Yun nga lang. POLITICS IS NEVER THAT SIMPLE.

Politics is generally accepted as the art of compromise and consensus.

It’s also a numbers game.

Many politicians started with very good intentions, but eventually, tulad ng sabi ng marami, kinakain ng sistema.

Which we now know, is a very corrupt system.

Pero hindi naman pwede na hindi tayo sumali.

Magsalita.

Mag post ng ating opinion at paniniwala.

Mag hikayat ng iba na sumali sa ating opinion at paniniwala.

Ang iba pa nga, sumali narin sa mga rally, sumali sa mga partido, at Ilan naring mga Pastor at Bishop Ang tumakbo sa mga eleksyon.

May mga natalo. At meron ding mga nanalo, at sa kasalukuyan ay nanunungkulan.

May mga Pastoral Association, or samahan ng mga Pastor, who have clearly identified themselves as supporters of a specific Mayor, Governor, Congressman, Senator, Vice President, and President.

May mga politicians at elected government officials nga, na hindi man sila Pastor o Bishop, ngunit parang ganon narin ang turing sa kanila ng ilang mga religious groups, dahil sa maraming dahilan.

That being said,

Kahit pwede lumahok ang Pastor sa Pulitika,

Kailangan parin nyang tandaan,

Unang una,

Lingkod sya ng Diyos

Pangalawa,

Na Kung papano sya lumalahok sa pulitika, ito dapat ay ayon sa mga malinaw na turo ni Hesus sa Bibliya.

Pangatlo,

Na hindi nya dapat ginagamit ang mga gawain ng simbahan para sa pulitika

Pang apat,

Understanding also, that he may have members in his church or ministry, na iba ang politics, at baka kalaban pa nung sinusuportahan ng Pastor.

Dito ngayun magkaka subukan.

Kung gano tayo ka mature, not just politically, but more importantly spiritually, pag hindi tayo pare pareho ng politics.

But to us Pastors, this is a reminder

2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NIV)

24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

Pinasok natin ang pag pa Pastor,

Gampanan natin ito ng tama,

Even when it comes to politics and social issues,

Panindigan natin ito.
