TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION

"But if anyone does not PROVIDE for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."
(1 Timothy 5:8, NASB)

REFLECTION:
Am I diligent and responsible enough through my hard work to meet my personal needs as well as my family's?

Do I truly trust and fully depend on the Lord for His provisions for me and my loved ones?

ACTION POINT:
My faith is the outer expression of God’s love within me. But to show love to the world, I must first learn to show love and faithfully provide for those in my own home.

I will start by showing godliness to my own household and giving back to my parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God.

I will ask the Lord to enable me and the other members of my family to be diligent and excellent at work and to be responsible and generous in being channels of God's provision.

Whatever work I may have, I shall give my best and put my whole trust in His SUPERNATURAL PROVISIONS, because those who trust and seek the Lord will never lack any good thing. (Psalm 34:10)

I will put in the work and leave the rest to God. For the LORD is faithful, He is gracious, and HE PROVIDES!

TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..."
(Matthew 28:19, NASB)

REFLECTION:
Do I honor God and fulfill His mission of making disciples?

Do I go beyond in making Christ-committed followers who will make Christ-committed followers, OR do I stay within my comfort zone?

Am I scared of what people might think if I witness and share God's word to them?

ACTION POINT:
The mission of the church is to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel to the lost, and making Christlike disciples who will also eventually make Christlike disciples. This is the Great Commission.

Witnessing and discipleship can only be done through God's spirit, power, and intervention. And, it has to be INTENTIONAL -- with true accountability that leads to experiencing the manifest presence and power of our living God.

The workers are few but the harvest is plentiful. I will do my share in God's mission of making JESUS known and be a "salt and light discipler."

To focus on anything else is to get off course, but I will not lose sight of our purpose and mission as a church: “to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel and making Christlike disciples who make Christlike disciples.”

I will GO BEYOND. I will live God's purpose of MAKING JESUS... KNOWN!

TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION

"All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, 'God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.' Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time."
(1 Peter 5:5-6, NIV)

REFLECTION:
Why is pride dangerous and why should I run away from it?

How do I rate myself when it comes to the 8 marks of humility?

How can I improve so that I can become humble like Christ?

ACTION POINT:
"Pride is the complete anti-God state of mind. It is the great sin that leads to all other sins because pride is the exaltation of self above all authority, even God's authority."(C.S. Lewis)

Pride, simply put, is synonymous with E.G.O -- Edging God Out. It is when one thinks all about himself and desires self glory, self importance, and self will. It is deadly yet subtle, as it can unconsciously lead to other negative emotions like anger, anxiety, entitlement, jealousy, bitterness, etc.

So rather than desire to exalt myself, I will transform my E.G.O. from Edging God Out to Exalting God Only, and clothe myself with the 8 marks of humility:
- restedness in God's sovereignty,
- gratitude and appreciation for His goodness,
- forgiveness towards others,
- willingness to be taught and corrected,
- desire to serve God and others,
- avoding judgment and criticism of others,
- surrendering my rights, and
- focus on God's glory rather than my own.

Lord, thank You that it is never too late for me to repent and humble myself. I will BEWARE OF PRIDE because of its many dangers...

And instead surrender to Your will, trust in Your amazing plan, and just like Christ, I will BE HUMBLE!

TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION

“Then [Isaac] said, “Behold now, I am old. I do not know the day of my death.”
(Genesis 27:2,NKJV)

REFLECTION:
Do I keep myself reminded that life on earth is brief and temporal?

Since I do not know when I will leave this earthly life, will I be "ready" when that day comes?

More importantly, am I sure WHERE I will go when my time comes?

ACTION POINT:
The Bible reminds me, “The things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Cor 4:18)

For me to make the best use of my life, I must never forget the truth that compared with eternity, life on earth is extremely short and temporal. I won’t be here long, so I should not get too attached to earthly desires.

For me to be ready when my life is taken away, one thing I have to be sure of right now is whether or not I am TRULY in CHRIST.

Someone wisely said, “Not only is death INEVITABLE; death is necessary for us to inherit the new life we are to enjoy in CHRIST.” (Max Lucado)

I will make sure that everything I do while I still have time brings pleasure, honor, and glory to JESUS' Name.

Lord, make each of my moment COUNT for You... in JESUS' name I pray!

TWO MINUTE DAILY SPIRITUAL DEVOTION

"Indeed God SPEAKS once, Or twice, yet no one notices it."
(Job 33:14, NASB)

REFLECTION:
How does God speak to me? Do I actively listen and watch out for His call?

Do I have an open heart and mind, a spirit willing and ready to listen to God's still, small voice?

Do I recognize what God has revealed to me time and time again?

ACTION POINT:
Listening to God is ultimately a heart issue.

If I deliberately, willfully, and repeatedly put my own selfish will ahead of God, surely He will NOT speak to me, because repeated, deliberate, and habitual disobedience will silence God’s voice.

I can only hear His call by showing pure hearted devotion to Him, letting go of my own selfish desires that are opposed to His will, and decide to hold His plans as my most important priority in life.

God speaks in dreams and visions (Gen 20:6), through circumstances, using His faithful servants, and through His written Word.

I will immerse myself in God's Word daily. I will be sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and listen well to His godly people.

Speak LORD, for I'm LISTENING!
