The story of Moses and the burning bush is one we know well. In Exodus 3:1โ6, Moses encounters God on Mount Horeb while tending sheep, where Moses witnesses a bush that burns without being consumed. From the fire, God identifies Himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and commands Moses to remove his sandals for the ground beneath him is holy. He calls Moses by name, and Moses answers, "Here am I." In that moment, Moses was bewildered; he could not even look at God. Yet it was precisely then that God's calling upon his life began.
This was, at its heart, a divine encounterโthe very kind that changes everything. Yet before such an encounter takes place, we are left with questions that are deeply human. Where is God when I need Him most? Who is God? These are the honest cries of souls who have not yet met Him, searching for something real in the midst of uncertainty and longing. It is natural to ask them. But these questions cannot be answered from a distance. They can only be silenced by drawing near. To truly know the one, true, and holy God, we must encounter Him.
An encounter with Jesus is the only way these questions find their answer. Once you have known Godโtruly known Himโdoubts begin to fade, disbelief loses its grip, and faith takes root and grows. But encounter is not merely an event; it is also an invitation to listen. To be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. To let God reveal His will for your life. Through that encounter, you will know and understand that God is with you in every moment.
Each of us encounters Jesus differently: through a dream, a prayer, a person placed unexpectedly in our path. Yet the fruit of every genuine encounter is the same. It humbles you. It moves you to repentance. It brings you to a place of surrender. In that surrender, God's glory is unveiled.
God did not make a mistake when He called you by name. He is the great I Amโthe self-existent, ever-present Godโand when He calls, there is only one fitting response: "Here am I."
Seek Him today, and every day. Encounter God, and let that encounter change everything.
