⚜️ Bishop-in-Charge Successfully Concludes Pastoral Visit to the Island Missions ⚜️

"I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me." — John 10:14

July 27, 2026 — The Diocese gives thanks to God for the successful completion of the Pastoral Visit of The Rt. Rev. Christopher N. Macaday, Bishop-in-Charge, to the Island Mission communities of Malangabang, Igbon, and Tambaliza, Concepcion, Iloilo.

Accompanying the Bishop in this grace-filled pastoral ministry were the priests serving these missionary communities: Rev. Fr. Maxjel Vasquez of the Island Mission of Malangabang, Rev. Fr. Bedgie Guipo of the Island Mission of Igbon, and Rev. Fr. John Vincent Aguilar of the Island Mission of Tambaliza.

The pastoral visitation became a profound expression of the Church's care for its people, especially those living in the island missions. Through prayer, fellowship, and pastoral encounters, the faithful were encouraged to remain steadfast in faith, united in hope, and committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Diocese extends its sincere appreciation to the clergy, lay leaders, church workers, volunteers, and all the faithful whose generous hospitality and dedicated service contributed to the success of this pastoral visit.

May the fruits of this visitation continue to inspire renewed faith, deeper communion, and a stronger commitment to the mission of the Church. Together, let us continue walking as one people of God, proclaiming Christ's love in every place and every generation.

The Clergy of the Diocese of Iloilo joins the National Priest Organization Regional Convention with gratitude, unity, and commitment to faithful pastoral service.

National Priest Organization (NPO) Region B Regional Convention

Day 1 – June 8, 2026
Don Bosco Retreat House
Brgy. Granada, Bacolod City

The National Priest Organization (NPO) Region B Regional Convention officially commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Rev. Fr. Ramonito Deza Jr. together with the members of the REXECOM. The Eucharistic celebration set the spiritual tone for the gathering, calling the clergy to unity, prayer, and renewed commitment to their pastoral ministry.

The homily was delivered by Very Rev. Franz Foerster, who reflected on the sacred vocation of the clergy and the continuing call to serve God's people with faithfulness, humility, and compassion. His message encouraged the delegates to remain steadfast in their ministry and to deepen their commitment to the mission of Christ and His Church.

Following the Holy Mass, the participants engaged in a Biblical-Theological Reflection facilitated by Rev. Jerome Lito. Through scriptural and theological insights, the session invited the clergy to reflect on the Church's mission in contemporary society and the vital role of priests as shepherds, teachers, and servants of God's people.

An informative session on the NPO By-Laws, Constitution, and Organizational Structure was then presented by Rev. Msgr. Marco Sulayao. The discussion provided valuable guidance on the governance, objectives, and organizational framework of the National Priests Organization, helping delegates better understand their responsibilities and participation within the life and ministry of the organization.

The day concluded with a joyful Welcome Night graciously hosted by the Diocese of Bago. The evening fostered fraternity, fellowship, and mutual encouragement among the clergy delegates from the dioceses of Iloilo, Antique, Aklan & Capiz, Guimaras, Bago, and La Castellana. Through shared meals, conversations, and cultural presentations, the gathering celebrated the unity of the clergy and strengthened the bonds of brotherhood that support their common mission.

As the convention continues, may the spirit of prayer, learning, and fellowship experienced on this first day inspire all participants to grow together in faith, service, and pastoral leadership for the glory of God and the building up of His Church.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, but encouraging one another." (Hebrews 10:24–25)
