The Diocesan Assessment of the seminarian assigned in the diocese was successfully held at the Parish of St. John the Baptist on May 18, 2026. The gathering served as an important part of the Summer Internship Program, providing an opportunity for the parish community and diocesan representatives to evaluate and affirm the seminarianโ€™s pastoral ministry, spiritual growth, and active participation in parish life.

The assessment highlighted the seminarianโ€™s dedication to serving the faithful through liturgical ministries, catechetical instruction, youth involvement, community visitation, and other pastoral activities within the parish. This evaluation reflects the Dioceseโ€™s continuing mission of forming future ministers who are deeply rooted in faith, compassion, discipline, and pastoral sensitivity. Through the cooperation of the parish community, the assessment became not only an evaluation process but also an encouragement for the seminarian in their journey toward the sacred ministry.

May this formative experience continue to inspire vocations and strengthen the partnership between the Church, the diocese, and the faithful in nurturing future servants of God.

With grateful hearts and renewed commitment to the mission of the Church, the Diocese joyfully witnessed the inauguration and blessing of the Obispo Maximo Tomas A. Millamena Labor Center โ€” a ministry dedicated to the dignity of labor, justice for workers, and compassionate service to the community.

This meaningful occasion stands as a living reminder that the Church is not only present within the walls of worship, but also walks alongside the people in their daily struggles, aspirations, and work. Inspired by the faithful leadership and vision of Tomas A. Millamena, the Labor Center hopes to become a place of hope, empowerment, and solidarity for all workers and families.

May this new ministry continue to uphold the Gospel values of justice, compassion, and service, strengthening the Churchโ€™s mission to become a true companion of the marginalized and the working sector.

The Iglesia Filipina Independiente formally opens its 16th General Assembly through the solemn celebration of the Primatial Mass at the IFI Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, La Paz, Iloilo City, presided over by The Most Rev. Joel O. Porlares, Obispo Maximo.

Gathered as one Church in prayer, faith, and unity, the Assembly becomes a sacred witness of our continuing mission to serve Godโ€™s people with compassion, justice, and hope. May the Holy Spirit guide every reflection, discernment, and decision for the strengthening of the Church and the renewal of pastoral ministry.

The celebration of fellowship and communion continues during the Welcome Night graciously hosted by the Diocese of Iloilo at Punta Villa Resort, Villa, Iloilo City โ€” a joyful gathering that reflects the warmth of Christian brotherhood and shared mission in Christ.

With grateful hearts and one spirit in Christ, the Diocese gathered teachers and facilitators for the Vacation Church School 2026 Training and Orientation. Rooted in the theme, โ€œAko ay Kawangis ng Diyos,โ€ this gathering reminded everyone that each person bears the image of God and has a unique place in the life and mission of the Church.

Through prayer, fellowship, learning, and shared experiences, participants were encouraged to continue their sacred ministry of forming young lives in faith, compassion, dignity, and service. As one body with many members, may we continue to nurture communities where every child is welcomed, valued, and guided toward Christ.

May the Holy Spirit strengthen all our VCS teachers and facilitators as they faithfully serve the children and the Church.
