La Paz, Iloilo City, Philippines, and to the regions of the world. Beliefs

The following is a brief explanation of the doctrines taught and practiced by Iloilo Bible Baptist Church of Lapaz Inc. (see IBBC constitution for full statement):

The Doctrine of Scripture
We believe that God has inspired the original Scriptures perfectly with no error (inerrancy), and has preserved these very Scriptures without error, as He promised (II Tim. 3:16-17; Ps. 12:6-7). We believe that these inspired and preserved words of God are found in the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Greek Received Text of the New Testament (Mt. 4:4; 5:18). We believe that the accurate and faithful rendering of these inspired and preserved Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words occur in the King James Bible (Rom. 16:25-26). We, therefore, use exclusively the King James Version (also known as the Authorized Version) as the only Bible for rule and faith of this assembly. The Doctrine of God
We believe in the Triune God of the Bible as Scripture states: “These three are one” (I Jn. 5:7). We believe that the Three Persons of the Godhead include God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (I Jn. 5:7; Mt. 3:16-17; 28:19-20). We believe there is One God and therefore the Members of the Trinity are co-equal, co-eternal, co-powerful, and co-existent (II Cor. 13:14). We believe that the Members of the Godhead are all deity in nature and attributes, and equally involved in their respective roles in creation, inspiration, and redemption. We believe that the Triune Godhead created the heavens and earth in six literal days, which creation included Adam and Eve (Gen. 1:1-2; 27). We believe that the Triune Godhead created the angelic realm perfect during the creation week, after which Lucifer (now known as “the great dragon,” “the old serpent,” the “Devil” and “Satan”) fell along with one-third of the angels (Gen. 2:1; Job 38:7; Isa. 14:12-14; Rev. 12:9). We believe that the Triune Godhead inspired and preserved His words which are forever settled in heaven (I Cor. 2:13; II Pet. 1:21; Ps. 119:89). We believe that God the Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as God manifest in the flesh, to redeem fallen mankind through His bloody, substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, which Gospel work when believed, commences salvation and subsequent sanctification through the work of the Holy Spirit (Jn. 3:16; I Tim. 3:16; Mk. 10:45; Rom. 3:24-25; I Pet. 1:2). The Doctrine of Salvation
We believe that all mankind is depraved, sinful, and lost (Eccl. 7:20; Isa. 64:6; Rom. 3:9-19). We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ provided salvation for all mankind through His death, burial, and resurrection (I Jn. 2:1-2; I Cor. 12:1-4). We believe that the Scriptures require sinners to meet the conditions for conversion which are repentance and faith (Lk. 13:3; Acts 16:30-31). We believe that Christians may have full assurance of salvation as they grow in sanctification (Rom. 10:13; I Jn. 5:11-12; II Pet. 3:18). We reject as unbiblical the notions of “easy-believe-ism,” Calvinism, Arminianism, and the possibility of losing one’s salvation. The Doctrine of the Church
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ founded His ekklesia (assembly, congregation, or church) prior to Pentecost, and built it up with church discipline, the Lord’s Supper, and the Great Commission (Mt. 16:18; 18:16-18; 26:24-26; 28:19-20). We believe that He guaranteed the perpetuity of immersionist assemblies by promising to be with those who carry out the Great Commission, until the end of the local church age (Mt. 28:19-20). We believe that the local Baptist church is the Body of Christ in that locale (I Cor. 12:27; Eph. 1:22-23). We believe that the two ordinances for the local church are believer’s baptism (full immersion) and the memorial of the Lord’s Table (Acts 2:41, 47; I Cor. 11:23-32). We believe that the Christian must serve the Lord faithfully in the local church, using his or her spiritual gift by which the believer will be judged (Rom. 12:4-8; I Pet. 4:8; I Cor. 3:11-15). We believe that the only two offices for the assembly are the Bishop (Elder or Pastor) and Deacon (I Tim. 3:1-13; Tit. 1:6-9). The Doctrine of Last Things
We believe in the imminent return of Christ prior to the Tribulation and known as the Pre-Tribulation Rapture (I Thes. 4:13-18). We believe that the seventieth week (heptad) of Daniel’s prophecy is the yet-to-come seven-year Tribulation which will be followed by the one thousand year Millennium (Dan. 9:24-27; Rev. 4-19; 20:1-6). We believe that Christ will judge all mankind with respect to salvation and service (I Cor. 3:11-15; Rev. 20:12-15; Heb. 9:28)
We believe that the Lord will raise all mankind, some to the resurrection of life and some to the resurrection of damnation (Jn. 5:28-29; Col. 3:20-21 Rev. 20:12-15). We deny as unscriptural the notions of a Mid-Tribulation, Pre-Wrath, Post-Tribulation, Post-Millennial, A-Millennial eschatological positions. We believe that the righteous dead goes immediately to be with Christ forever in heaven, and the lost who die to go immediately to hell and will suffer in the lake of fire forever (Phil. 1:21; Lk. 16:22-23; II. We at Iloilo Bible Baptist Church of La Paz Inc. are interested in your spiritual welfare. Our purpose is to minister spiritually to those desiring knowledge about salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ and the truth of Scripture. We can help you be aware of your spiritual condition by presenting what the God of the Bible says about your welfare. If you are not a Christian, that is, if you are not a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, then your present condition is that you are under the condemnation of God facing His eternal wrath in Hell. The good news or Gospel is that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. Once you become convicted of your sins, you must turn from them in repentance, and turn toward the Lord Jesus Christ in faith for biblical salvation. Notice the following Bible verses:

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). For the wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). But he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (Jn. 3:18). I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish (Lk. 13:3). And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire(Rev. 20:15)

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:31). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Rom. 10:13). How that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day (I Cor. 15:4-5). For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (Jn. 3:16). If you are saved, you need to receive biblical baptism by immersion into a New Testament assembly of baptized believers. Iloilo Bible Baptist Church of La Paz Inc. is one such church. Once you receive Christ as your Saviour and are scripturally baptized into an NT church, you will begin to grow in the Bible and enjoy fellowship with others saints of like faith, supporting the ministry of carrying out the Great Commission. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost (Mt. 28:19). Then they that gladly received his word were baptized, and the same day there added unto them about three thousand souls (Acts 2:41). See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest (Acts 8:36-37). Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God (Col. 2:12). If you are interested in becoming a Christian, receiving Baptism, and joining Iloilo Bible Baptist Church of La Paz Inc., please contact us. Senior Pastor: Dr. George M. Totica, M.B.S.
