KABATAAN, ATON GIYAHAN INDI PAGPABAY-AN.

Ang mga nagligad nga mga insidente sa aton mga pamatan-on isa ka pahanumdom sa aton tanan nga sa likod sang tagsa ka hitabo, may isa ka bata nga nagakinahanglan sang paghangop, paggiya, kag pag-upod. Indi lamang naton dapat pagpamangkuton, “Ano ang natabo?” ukon “Sin-o ang may sala?” kundi pamangkuton man naton ang aton kaugalingon, “Ano ang aton mahimo agud sila mabuligan nga makapili sang husto?” Ang aton mga pamatan-on nagadaku sa kalibutan nga puno sang pagpili, pagpasulay, impluwensya, kag mga responsibilidad nga indi nila permi mahangpan sing bug-os. Amo ini nga importante ang pormasyon, isa ini ka lugar nga makapamangkot sila, makatuon sang ila mga kinamatarung kag responsibilidad, makahangop sang mga epekto sang ila mga desisyon, kag makahibalo nga ang paghimo sang husto nga butang nagakinahanglan sang kaisog kag pagkamatinumanon.

Bilang isa ka parokya kag komunidad, indi kita mag-atubang sa sini nga mga sitwasyon paagi sa paghukom lamang, kundi paagi sa pagpangamuyo, paggiya, paghangop, kag pag-upod sa aton mga kabataan.

Rossi Garcia. Kabataan, ginikanan, youth leaders, kag tanan nga nagakabalaka para sa palaabuton sang aton mga pamatan-on, ini nga formation para sa inyo.

This formation session seeks to help young people better understand juvenile justice, their rights and responsibilities, and the importance of making wise and responsible choices. Through learning, reflection, and meaningful discussion, participants will be encouraged to uphold the dignity of every person, respect others, and live out their Christian values in their families, schools, communities, and society.

“Sa masami kung indi madalum ang aton nga pagtuo, ginasandig lamang naton ang aton nga pagtuo sa ginahambal sang iban. Pero ang palamangkutanon sang Ginoo, para sa inyo sin-o bala ako? Isa ka palamangkutanon nga personal, indi lamang base sa panugiron sang iban ukon sa aton nabatian ukon nabasahan. Ang matuod-tuod nga pagtuo, nabase sa aton nga kaangtanan kag sa aton matuod-tuod nga eksperyensya sa Ginoo.”

FEAST OF THE QUEENSHIP OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
Queen of Heaven and Earth and Mother of the Church

The Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates Mary's unique role in God's plan of salvation as the Mother of Jesus Christ, the King of Kings. Because of her faithful obedience to God and her close union with her Son, the Church honors her as Queen of Heaven and Earth. This feast reminds us that Mary's dignity comes not from earthly power, but from her humility, faith, and wholehearted service to God.

Established as a universal feast by Pope Pius XII in 1954, the Queenship of Mary is celebrated each year on August 22, eight days after the Solemnity of the Assumption. Mary's queenship points us toward Christ and reminds us that she continues to guide the faithful with a mother's love, leading all who seek her help closer to her Son and to the promise of eternal life.

FEAST OF ST. PIUS X, POPE
Patron Saint of First Communicants and Catholic Catechists

St. Pius X was an Italian priest born in 1835 who became the 257th Pope of the Catholic Church in 1903. Known for his humility and deep love for the Eucharist, he encouraged frequent Holy Communion and lowered the age for children to receive their First Holy Communion. He also promoted the teaching of the Catholic faith through catechism and renewed the sacred liturgy.

St. Pius X died on August 20, 1914, and was canonized on May 29, 1954, by Pope Pius XII. His feast is celebrated each year on August 21, honoring his legacy of devotion to the Eucharist, faithful teaching, and pastoral care of the Church.

FEAST OF SAINT BERNARD
Abbot and Doctor of the Church

Saint Bernard of Clairvaux was a Cistercian monk, abbot, preacher, and Doctor of the Church who lived in the 12th century. Known for his deep love for Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Church, he dedicated his life to prayer, preaching, and guiding others toward a deeper relationship with God. His wisdom and writings continue to inspire the faithful to seek holiness through humility, love, and faithful service.

Saint Bernard reminds us that true Christian life begins with a heart that loves God sincerely. His devotion to prayer and contemplation teaches us to make time for God amid the busyness of life, while his commitment to the Church challenges us to share our faith with courage and charity. On his feast, may we ask for his intercession that we may grow in humility, deepen our love for Christ, and faithfully use our gifts in serving God and His people.

FEAST OF OUR LADY OF SALVATION
Patroness of Those Seeking Protection, Guidance, and Salvation

Our Lady of Salvation is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoring her role as the Mother of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Through this devotion, the faithful turn to Mary as a loving mother and intercessor, asking for her guidance, protection, and prayers as they seek to follow Christ and remain faithful to God.

The devotion to Our Lady of Salvation reminds us that Mary always leads us closer to her Son, Jesus. Her life of humility, obedience, and unwavering faith serves as an example for all Christians. On her feast, we entrust our families, communities, and all those in need to her maternal care, asking her to guide us toward the salvation offered through Christ.

FEAST OF ST. ROCH (ROQUE)
Patron Saint of the Sick, Plague Victims, and Dogs

St. Roch (Roque) was a French nobleman who gave up his wealth and dedicated his life to serving the poor and caring for those suffering from the plague. While traveling through Italy, he devoted himself to helping the sick and, according to tradition, brought healing to many through his prayers. When he himself became ill, he withdrew into the forest, where a faithful dog brought him bread and helped sustain him during his recovery.

St. Roch is remembered for his charity, compassion, and trust in God, especially in times of sickness and suffering. Although some details of his life are uncertain, devotion to him spread widely throughout Europe, and he became a beloved patron of those affected by epidemics and disease. His feast is celebrated on August 16, reminding the faithful of the importance of compassion, service, and faith in times of hardship.

FEAST OF THE SOLEMNITY OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY.

The feast originated in 5th-century Palestine as the Dormition—Mary’s "Falling Asleep." By AD 600, Emperor Maurice fixed its date as August 15 across the Eastern Empire.

It reached Rome in the 7th century. The Western Church gradually renamed it the Assumption, focusing on Mary being taken up body and soul into heaven.

For centuries this belief was universally held in faith and tradition. It was formally defined as Church dogma only on November 1, 1950, by Pope Pius XII in Munificentissimus Deus. He declared: the Immaculate Mother of God, having finished her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.

Today it remains a Holy Day of Obligation and one of the Church’s most solemn celebrations.
