𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀! 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

On May 1, 2026, we pause not just to celebrate labor, but to feel it— to recognize the long hours, the quiet sacrifices, and the unseen struggles carried by those who keep our communities moving.

Our jeepney drivers are more than drivers; they are fathers, mothers, and providers. Enduring the heat, the traffic, and the uncertainty of each day, just to bring others safely to where they need to be.

In our small way, the LAKAS Youth Organization continues its initiative of offering water and snacks. Not as mere charity, but as a heartfelt appreciation of gratitude. A simple reminder that their efforts are seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.

This season, may we choose empathy. May we honor not only the work, but the people behind it.

‎Vincent was a former USC Councilor under LYO and also served as the organization’s Secretary. He embodies LAKAS’ commitment to producing excellent leaders who are not only competent in leadership and service, but also exemplary in academics and character.

Watch as 2026 TOSIA College Awardee ROMAVIL ABELARDE from West Visayas State University – Main Campus showcases her passion, creativity, and commitment to creating positive change through her Advocacy Video.

Through her project, “EDUconnect: Bridging Barriers, Empowering Learners with Special Needs Across Borders,” Romavil advocates for inclusive education by creating opportunities where learners with special needs feel valued, included, and empowered. Inspired by her experiences in inclusive classrooms and her international teaching internship in Indonesia, she continues to champion awareness, understanding, and accessibility in education.

Aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, her advocacy inspires future educators and youth to become champions of inclusion and equal learning opportunities for all.
