Hi famz! 👋 It’s Throwback Thursday! Here’s a little throwback for our last Sunday’s Worship Service, we were reminded to stay GRATEFUL ANYWAY with Pastor Jp Arsola .

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Introduction:
We often focus on what we don't have, what hasn't happened, and what God hasn't done yet. But Paul reminds us: “In everything give thanks.” Gratitude doesn't mean everything is good; it means we recognize that God is still good, even when life isn't.

1. Gratitude Changes What We See
Gratitude shifts our focus from what is missing to what God has already done. We may not have everything we want, but we still have God's presence, provision, grace, and faithfulness.

Sometimes the miracle is not what God gives us, but how faithfully He sustains us.

2. Gratitude Changes How We Walk
Gratitude is not based on circumstances; it is rooted in who God is. Like Paul and Silas who worshiped in prison before their breakthrough, we can choose to praise God even while we're still waiting.

Don't wait for the breakthrough before you worship. Worship while you wait.

Closing:
Life may not always be good, but God is always good. The season may change, but His faithfulness remains.

So don't only count your problems—count your blessings. Don't only remember what you lost—remember what God has done.

Whatever season you're in, make this your declaration: “I may not understand everything, but I trust You. I may not have everything I want, but I am thankful for what I have. Whatever happens, I will remain grateful—anyway.”

1st SUNDAY of AUGUST
YGC ILOILO
THE DANGER OF A FAMILIAR JESUS
with Ptr. Jp Arsola .

Have you ever noticed that the longer we have something, the easier it is to take it for granted?

The same can happen in our walk with Christ. We can attend church, sing worship songs, read the Bible, and serve faithfully—yet slowly lose our wonder and expectancy for Jesus. The greatest danger isn't walking away from Him; it's becoming so familiar with Him that we stop honoring Him, trusting Him, and expecting Him to work in our lives.

Text: Mark 6:1–6
1. Familiarity Can Replace Wonder (Mark 6:2–3)
The people of Nazareth saw Jesus as "just the carpenter" instead of the promised Messiah. Let's never allow routine to rob us of the awe and gratitude we once had for Christ.

2. Familiarity Can replace Intimacy (Mark 6:5)
It's possible to be present in church but absent in heart. Jesus desires more than religious habits—He desires a daily, living relationship with us.

3. Familiarity Can Lower Our Expectation of what God can do.(Mark 6:6)
The people expected little from Jesus, and their unbelief kept them from experiencing all that He wanted to do. Come before God with fresh faith, believing that He still speaks, heals, restores, and transforms lives today.

Conclusion:
Don't let years of attending church replace years of walking closely with Jesus. The Savior you first fell in love with is still worthy of your greatest devotion, your deepest worship, and your highest expectation. May we never lose our awe of Christ, but continue to know Him more, love Him more, and follow Him more each day.

Sunday at YGC iloilo
The God of Small and Big Things
John 2:1–11

Jesus’ first miracle in Cana reminds us that our God is not only the God of big breakthroughs, but also the God who cares about the smallest details of our lives.

At the wedding, Jesus turned ordinary water into extraordinary wine, showing us that:

1. God cares about every concern.
Nothing is too small or too insignificant to bring before Him. The same God who handles our greatest battles also cares about our everyday struggles.

2. Miracles begin with obedience.
Mary said, “Do whatever He tells you.” Sometimes God’s instructions may not make sense, but obedience creates a space for His miracles to happen.

3. Fill your jars to the brim with faith.
The servants filled the jars completely, and Jesus transformed their obedience into a miracle. The level of our faith determines how much we allow God to move in our lives.

4. Always give God the glory.
The best wine came from Jesus, yet many did not know where it came from. May we never forget that every blessing, whether big or small, comes from the Lord.

5. Invite Jesus into every area of your life.
The miracle happened because Jesus was present. When we invite Him into our marriage, family, finances, dreams, and struggles, we make room for His power to work.

Remember:
The God who turned water into wine is still the same God today—working in our big battles and caring for our small details. Nothing is too big for Him, and nothing is too small for His attention. ✨
