Western Visayas Medical Center joyfully welcomes and proudly expresses its heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during the turnover ceremony of the โ‚ฑ14 million surgical ophthalmology machine, made possible through Lions Club International.

This remarkable contribution marks a significant milestone in advancing quality eye care services. We are also deeply thankful for the donated IOL lenses, which will greatly benefit the patients of WVMC.

These invaluable resources will not only help address the growing number of ophthalmology patients but will also enhance the training and development of our Ophthalmology residentsโ€”empowering them to deliver excellent, compassionate, and life-changing care.

The public is invited to tour the newly completed Bacolod Philippines Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during a public open house.

Temples are sacred buildings designed to help Godโ€™s children feel close to Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. This open house is a unique opportunity for everyone to tour this sacred house of the Lord and enjoy the beautiful grounds.

On that first Easter morning, the empty tomb bore witness to the triumph of Jesus Christ over death. Just as Mary Magdalene rejoiced in His Resurrection, we too rejoice today, knowing that because of Him, the bands of temporal death are loosed and all shall be raised again.

As Alma testified, โ€œthe death of Christ shall loose the bands of this temporal death, that all shall be raised from this temporal deathโ€ (Alma 11:42).

This Easter Sunday, missionaries share their witness of the Saviorโ€™s Atonement and Resurrectionโ€”that through Him, we too can be resurrected and find hope, healing, and eternal promise.

Jesus Christ rose from the tomb, and an angel rolled away the stone. He appeared to Mary Magdalene, calling her by name, and later instructed His disciples to teach, baptize, and promised His constant presence. Her faith reminds us that He lives - offering hope, joy, and eternal life to all who follow Him.

As taught by Jeffrey R. Holland, the Savior found joy and invites us to be like children - quick to laugh, to love, and to forgive.

After Jesus Christ was laid in the tomb, a large stone sealed the entrance, and guards were stationed by Pilate at the request of the chief priests. Though His followers grieved, the hope He brought through His life promised light beyond the darkness.

As taught by D. Todd Christofferson (October 2011 General Conference), perhaps more than asking for mercy, we should seek time and opportunity to strive, overcome, and grow.

In Jerusalem, Jesus Christ was crucified after unjust trials. Even in agony, He prayed, โ€œFather, forgive themโ€ (Luke 23:34). With โ€œIt is finishedโ€ (John 19:30), He completed His mission of redeeming love.

As taught by Ulisses Soares, to take up our cross is to forgive as He forgave.
