March 2
"Get Out of the Cave"
1 Samuel 22:1-5
Messenger: Pastor Shim

People in the cave often don’t realize they are there. They grow used to isolation and darkness, believing it to be normal.

When David fled from King Saul, he found refuge in the cave of Adullam, surrounded by 400 distressed, indebted, and discontented men. Yet, in his despair, he did something remarkable—he prayed and worshiped the Lord.

To outsiders, he may have seemed like a coward, but God was attentive, and David found peace in Him. Faith doesn’t guarantee an escape from problems, but it transforms our hearts.

Afterward, the prophet Gad told David to leave the cave, and he obeyed, trusting God despite his fears. Likewise, we may linger in our own caves, but God calls us to step out. Obey His word, confess, and step into His purpose—He will be with you.

“Thought”
Romans 8:5-11
Messenger: Pastor Shim

Our thoughts influence our actions, and our actions shape our paths. Though thinking is an intellectual exercise, if it is corrupt or wicked, it not only brings consequences upon a person but also makes them an enemy of God. In contrast, when we focus on God's joy, we grow closer to Him.

God knows everything about us, including our thoughts—that is how powerful He is. On the other hand, we can only understand God's will through the Holy Spirit. If we remain focused on the flesh, we will never truly comprehend His ways. This highlights the importance of practicing good and godly thinking.

Thinking rightly all the time is not easy, but the Lord's help is always present. As Christians, we must return to the source—Him. Remember the One who saved you and brought you out of darkness.

“Beginner Driver”
Matthew 11:28-30
Messenger: Pastor Shim

We all have our firsts—our first time writing and reading, our first time riding a bike, our first day of school, and many more. These experiences can bring a mix of emotions, sometimes overwhelming.

In this passage, Jesus speaks to His people and to all believers, including us, about finding rest in Him. "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Following Him is not difficult, and He will never give us more than we can handle.

Our faith is like a driver's license—without practice or daily application, it becomes useless. Faith is not an obligation but a deep connection with the Lord, which we can strengthen by living it out in every opportunity. If we treat it as just another task, it will feel heavy—like a beginner struggling to drive. It can be discouraging.

But faith is believing: "Jesus is in me. He always takes care of me—even when I cannot see Him. My problems may still be here, but I trust that Jesus is with me."

In every moment, live by faith—even in the small things.

"Jesus User Manual"
John 7:25-36
Messenger: Pastor Shim

While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, some people could not believe that He was the Messiah because they knew Him as a man from Galilee. They were confident in their perception of Jesus, yet what they did not realize was that He had been sent by the Lord God—whom they did not truly know.

At times, we can be overly confident in our knowledge of someone, refusing to consider any other perspective. Similarly, in our faith, we may believe we fully know Jesus, yet there is still so much beyond our understanding. As followers of Christ, we must live by faith—not out of expectation, but because we genuinely believe that God is all we need. Knowing the Lord is a continuous journey; like us, it is never complete, but along the way, it illuminates our path.

"If you know Jesus well, you will have more of Him in your life; if you know Him little, you will have little of Him.”

The Message: “Am I Righteous Before God”
Scripture Reading: Genesis 38:1-30
Messenger: Pastor Shim

This chapter tells the story of Judah, Jacob’s fourth son, who left home and married. He had three sons: Er, Onan, and Shelah. Tamar, Er’s wife, became a widow after God took Er’s life for his wickedness. Judah then instructed Onan to father a child with Tamar, but Onan’s refusal led to the same fate. Judah sent Tamar back to her father’s house, intending to withhold Shelah from her.

Seeking justice, Tamar disguised herself as a pr******te and became pregnant by Judah. Unaware of her identity, Judah later ordered her ex*****on upon hearing of her pregnancy. However, Tamar revealed his seal, cord, and staff as proof of his involvement. Realizing his wrongdoing, Judah admitted she was more righteous than he. Tamar later gave birth to twins.

At some point, Judah reflects our own tendencies—we can be lenient and biased toward ourselves. It is easy to see the faults of others, yet we often fail to recognize our own. In today’s fast-paced world, where everything moves quickly—food, technology, and even human interactions—we are also quick to judge. We rarely pause to reflect and ask, “If I were in their place, would I judge myself the same way?"

As Christians, we are not called to point out others’ wrongdoings while ignoring our own. Our righteousness comes from God, not from ourselves, and we are saved by grace, not personal merit. Instead of looking down on others, we should look up—humbly seeking God’s guidance, recognizing our own sins, and sincerely praying for both His forgiveness and the well-being of others.

The Message: Things that Many People Do But We Shouldn't Do
Scripture Reading: Exodus 32:1-6
Messenger: Pastor Shim

This passage discusses how the Israelites grew impatient while waiting for Moses to return from Mount Sinai. They asked Aaron, Moses' brother, to make gods for them. In response, Aaron crafted a golden calf from their gold accessories. He then built an altar in front of the calf, and they held a festival, engaging in revelry, offering burnt sacrifices, and worshiping the idol.

In today’s world, many people continue to hold on to various practices and traditions. A majority follow these customs without truly discerning their deeper meaning. However, as Christians, we are called not to follow the ways of the world, but to adhere to the Lord’s teachings. We are not to act based on what “feels” right to us but on what is right in the eyes of God.

We must remind ourselves that even if everyone else does something, if it is not righteous, we must have the courage to say NO. It takes both bravery and humility to separate ourselves from what is considered usual or “normal,” but we can take comfort in knowing that the Lord recognizes His children. He will never abandon us to face these challenges alone.

Have you ever experienced a dilemma where you had to choose between following the majority and doing what is right?
