He is Risen

Dark was the day when Jesus Christ
hung upon the cross
God turned his back on his only son
satan seemed victorious but on the third day the
Tomb was filled with glorious heavenly life
Jesus rose up out of the grave
death gave way to life

he is risen he’s alive he lives forever more
he is risen he’s alive he’s in the grave no more
death could not keep him from rising up again
satan lost the fight and the darkness turned to light
he is risen

all other gods people choose to serve can’t hear
our prayer that’s great they’ve never been real
or they’ve all passed on and lie silent in the grave
I can stand here and say to you
that my God is not dead he rose from the grave
and he’s living today and I’ll forever proclaim
