28 May 2026 | II FLORES DE MAYO – CULMINATION ACTIVITY

St. Vincent de Paul — Smokey Chapel held its “Flores de Mayo” Culmination Activity, a tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary in faith and devotion as part of Filipino tradition.

It was a wonderful festivity filled with beautiful flowers, prayers, soulful music, and a vibrant religious-historical procession that showcased our rich culture and deep love for the Virgin Mary.

May this celebration serve as a testament to our unity as one community, guided by love, faith, and reverence.

“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.”

𝟐𝟒 𝐌𝐚𝐲 | 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲

Pentecost Sunday celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, fifty days after Easter. It marks the birth of the Church and the fulfillment of Jesus promise to send the Holy Spirit as our guide, comforter, and strength.

The Holy Spirit came like a mighty wind and tongues of fire, filling the disciples with courage to spread the Gospel to all nations.

“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit.” — Acts 2:4

𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙙

The Feast of the Ascension of Jesus, celebrated forty days after Easter, commemorates the moment when the risen Christ, in the sight of his apostles, ascended bodily into heaven. It marks the completion of his earthly mission and the beginning of his exaltation at the right hand of the Father, where he intercedes for us as our eternal High Priest. The Ascension is a reminder that heaven is our true home and that Jesus, fully God and fully man, has gone before us to prepare a place for us in the Father’s house.

“While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy” -Luke 24:50–52.

𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒅𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐

Children gathered at SVP Chapel, Peñafrancia Chapel, and Smokey Chapel to joyfully join our Flores de Mayo throught the month of May. They received cathechesis, sang a songs, prayed rosary and offered flowers to show their love and devotion to our Blessed Mother.

May this Flores de Mayo deepen their faith and devotion of our Blessed Mother and help them to grow closer to Jesus through Mary.

Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. It is the infinite mercy and love of God, reminding us that no sin is greater than His forgiveness.

Jesus invites us to trust in His mercy, to turn back to Him, and to extend that same mercy to others.

“His mercy endures forever.” — Psalm 136:1

“Jesus, I trust in You.”

𝟓 𝑨𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒍 | 𝑬𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒚

𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 celebrates the 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁, the day He rose from the dead, conquering sin and death. It is the fulfillment of God’s promise and the foundation of our faith.

From the sorrow of the cross comes the joy of new life. Easter reminds us that no darkness is greater than God’s light, and no ending is final with Him.

“He is not here; for He has risen, as He said." — Mathew 28:6

𝟒 𝑨𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒍 | 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑺𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒅𝒂𝒚

𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 is a day of silence, waiting, and hope. It commemorates the time when Jesus lay in the tomb, and the world waited in sorrow, yet with faith in God’s promise.

It is a quiet pause between suffering and victory, reminding us that even in darkness, hope is never lost.

“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” — Luke 24:5-6
