PRAYER TO ST. JOACHIM, FATHER OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

O great and glorious Patriarch, Saint Joachim, what joy is mine when I consider that thou wast chosen among all God's holy ones to assist in the fulfillment of the mysteries of God, and to enrich our earth with the great Mother of God, Mary most holy! By this singular privilege, thou hast become most powerful with both the Mother and her Son, so as to be able to obtain for us the graces that are needful to us; with great confidence I have recourse to thy mighty protection and I commend to thee all my needs and those of my family, both spiritual and temporal; and especially do I entrust to thy keeping the particular favor that I desire and look for from thy fatherly intercession.

And since thou wast a perfect pattern of the interior life, obtain for me the grace of interior recollection and a spirit of detachment from the transitory goods of this life, together with a lively and enduring love for Jesus and Mary. Obtain for me in like manner a sincere devotion and obedience to Holy Church and the sovereign pontiff who rules over her: to the end that I may live and die in faith and hope and perfect charity, ever invoking the holy names of Jesus and Mary, and may I thus be saved. Dear St. Joseph,
Come to my aid and bless me.
Even in your sleep, accompany mein discerning where the Spirit prompts me to go, and in doing what the Father wills me to do.

Like You, I carry the burden of daily toils on my shoulders.
I build a home where the reign of God can be all in all.
I track the road of righteousness towards the fulfillment of God's kingdom.

Now, I beg You, as You sleep, share in my dream to become what the Father wants me to be.
And as You awake, help me persevere through self-giving and commitment to prayer.

Towards the twilight of my life, teach me how to live a "happy old age".
And as I breathe my last,
Hold my hand as You held Jesus' hand.

🌹Learn to love the beauty of silence. It's only when you're quiet that you will be able to listen.

🌹It is only through the serenity of your whole being that you can appreciate a quiet encounter with God. He speaks at the innermost peace of your heart where your attentiveness is at its peak. Start to be gentle with yourself and take some time to let your mind rest away from the noise of the world where you can commune with yourself and to feel the beauty of being alone but never lonely. No words can ever explain what is going on in your mind and in your heart, and it is only through silence that you can achieve the right answer to calmness and serendipity to happen in your life. The noise you were in had made it difficult for God to let you absorb the message of his love. No amount of the world's attractions can ever suffice the joy of having the voice of God speak to you in the quiet recesses of your being.

🌹It is only when you're silent that God can have his turn to let you listen with your heart.

GOSPEL REFLECTION

🌹Never break your children's wings and tell them to fly. Life is all about give and take. You get back what you put out.

🌹Children learn from what they see and what they hear. The kind of atmosphere they have at home becomes their first teacher as they are moulded towards growth. A soft-spoken person roots its cause from the gentleness of his raring as a tot. Generosity is never handed through by blood but by the good examples they see that made them so glad. Love exudes when there is the foundation of care and affection that was imbedded in the character of the youth. Whatever you have planted among the few you will harvest in the many. Children will never become the hope of the future if they start with the inadequate sense of their parents' neglect of being good formators. When God calls you to be childlike, he seeks for your tenderness and meekness, that you could never acquire by being childish.

🌹A good parent is always a product of being a good child.

Look down at this poor soul that comes to you for help. Lead us with Your wisdom; discipline us with your truth; console us with your tenderness, protect us with your might.

🌹Commence and conclude your everyday life with prayers. No amount of energy suffices your stamina and stress than having God refresh you.

🌹In the midst of life's turmoil, never doubt the power of prayer to put you in control from any tribulation. A day without a prayer is just like having a day unwanting of his blessings. It's not about letting God do what you want but letting him to give you the strength to do what he wants. It's not about praying for an easy life but to humbly ask him to endure difficult ones - to endure pains, to willingly accept hurts, to remain humble amidst insults, to be firmly true against false accusations, to embrace forgiveness in lieu of revenge. These may not be your will, but God's. In the core of your painful hurts and struggles, it is prayer that will bring you to gratitude of having the opportunity to grow.
