In the Catholic Church's liturgical calendar, Ordinary Time refers to the periods of the year when the Church focuses on the mystery of Christ's life and teachings, rather than specific events like Advent, Lent, or Easter.
It's called "Ordinary" not because it's boring, but because the Sundays and weeks are numbered in sequence (e.g., 1st Sunday in Ordinary Time, 2nd Sunday, etc.). There are two periods of Ordinary Time:
1. After the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (January) until Ash Wednesday (Lent)
2. After Pentecost Sunday until the First Sunday of Advent (November/December)
During Ordinary Time, the Church emphasizes growing in faith, living the Gospel, and following Christ's teachings in daily life.
