-EPHATHA: Be Opened

-To encourage the Deaf in one Community and lead them to faith of the Catholic Church towards spiritual development.

-To put into practice the act of Charity in the life of our Deaf brethren.

-To train the new generation in order to improve and grow the faith of the Deaf .

-GOAL

MISION
-To commit ourselves in the service of the participants to the Deaf community in Panay Island.

-To teach them on how to pray with faith and educate them by means of Recollection, Catholic Deaf Youth Camp, and access to interpreter for the Deaf Church in Panay Island. Interact, socialized and learn from other deaf youth from different places.
2. To have a network to deaf Community and group helping the deaf.
3. To strengthen the Advocacy on Filipino Sign Language, Deaf Culture and Deaf Rights.

The Diocesan Commission on the Deaf Catholic Association of Panay, Philippine: EPHATHA successfully organized the 2nd Panay Deaf Catholic Youth Camp – Capiz 2026 on May 22–24, 2026.

During the camp, we journeyed together to visit historic old churches and different places in Capiz. It was a meaningful experience of faith, friendship, learning, and unity among the Deaf Catholic youth from Panay.

We sincerely thank all sponsors, supporters, volunteers, priests, and the Deaf community for your generosity, prayers, and support. Your kindness helped make this camp successful and memorable in Capiz.

Above all, we thank God for His guidance, protection, and blessings throughout our journey.

BASIC FILIPINO SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS
Mr. Alter Taborete - Deaf Teacher - Filipino Sign Language, continues teaching and learning Sign Language and gestures from May 4–28, 2026 at Janiuay National High School from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.

This class helps Deaf students and participants improve communication, confidence, and learning experience through Filipino Sign Language. Thank you for sharing knowledge, patience, and experience to support the Deaf community and education.
