Main Objectives
1. Strengthen teamwork among Panay Deaf Catholic leaders.
2. Develop effective leadership skills.
3. Promote unity among Deaf communities in Iloilo, Antique, Capiz, and Aklan.
4. Improve communication and cooperation in Deaf Ministry.
5. Encourage leaders to serve with faith, love, and responsibility.

Theme: “Together in Faith, United in Service.”

This gathering was an important opportunity for Deaf leaders to learn, share experiences, build friendship, and work together for a stronger and more inclusive Deaf Catholic Ministry in Panay.

We are happy to welcome Mr. Keisuka Moriya from Japan and Ms. Maria during their visit to the Deaf Community of Antique.

This is Mr. Keisuka and Ms. Maria first time visiting Antique, and it was a meaningful opportunity to meet, connect, and learn from the Deaf community.

Mr. Keisuka also had an interview with me, where we shared experiences about the Deaf community, sign language, faith, and Deaf ministry.

WORKSHOP ON TEAMWORK & LEADERSHIP OF PANAY

The Diocesan Commission on Deaf Catholic Association of Panay, Philippines: EPHATHA, together with the Deaf Ministry of San Jose de Antique, held the Workshop on Teamwork and Leadership of Panay on August 21–23, 2026, at Tuburan Kang Kabuhi, Bishop’s House, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

The gathering focused on strengthening teamwork, leadership, unity, faith, and service among Deaf Catholic leaders throughout Panay.

NEWLY ELECTED OFFICERS
The newly elected officers of the Diocesan Commission on Deaf Catholic Association of Panay, Philippines: EPHATHA were recognized during the workshop.

SIGN LANGUAGE MASS WITH THE DEAF COMMUNITY
On August 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM, Rev. Fr. Gregorio Dela Cruz Soldevilla Jr. celebrated a Sign Language Mass with the Deaf community.

Mr. Alter Tanate Taborete , Deaf leader and Chairperson of EPHATHA, participated through sign language together with the Deaf community at Bishop’s House, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

Thank you so much to Most Rev. Marvyn Abrea Maceda D.D, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Jose de Antique, for your generous sponsorship of our accommodation and meals during our gathering.
